hiii would you be so kind to give a summary of what happens in Aruosumente ch 36 to ch 39? the raw chapters are no longer online and I dunno what to dooo đđđ
iâm sorry but i donât know japanese :(
also, i donât quite remember what happened in those chapters. itâs sad that the chapters are no longer online. is it even ongoing?
For the sake of punishing myself...
Up until today, I've only done 10 pages...! When I try to do something I can't envision, I couldn't seriously do it . (lol)
It's probably readable after I add more lines, so I'll do it...I'm gonna do it...
Chapter 36 is here. Wow this took longer than I planned, sorry!!
Thereâre a lot of TL notes btw
But onto some good and bad news... Chapter 37 is even longer (28 pages)!! Iâll do my best to finish it within a week...
Volume 6 is available for purchase at
Amazon (hardcopy, kindle) (x)
CDJapan (x)
As youâll see in this chapter, âAruosumenteâ is actually supposed to be spelled âAlosmente.â Some sources like myanimelist have been using that instead of âAruosumente.â But Iâll continue to use âAruosumenteâ because thatâs more commonly used.

Lante: One, two, heave-ho!!
<<SFX: CLUNK>>
Lante: Ah
Soldier: LanteâŠDidnât we talk about not missing that mark?
Lante: Ugh
Soldier: Were your eyes closed?
Lante: They were open!!
Page 2
Soldier: As I thought, we should leave chopping the wood to Dante. Heâs good at it. Yeah, heâs good at it.
<<Other soldiers: Right⊠RightâŠ>>
Lante: I-I can do it too!!
Soldier: You canât though
Lante: Ugh
Soldier: Itâs fine, go call Dante. Heâll be able to do it
Lante: Wait! But I was able to properly chop them up yesterday!!
Soldier: Yeah, 3 logs (in one day)
<<SFX: soldiers grouping>>
Lante: Ugh
<<SFX: alone>>
Lante: âŠ
Lante: âŠTsk
Page 3
Lante: âŠTo begin with, you canât chop up something this small!? (Itâs impossible!!)
<<SFX: kick>>
Lante (narrating): I wonder how long itâs been since then
<<SFX: clang>>
Lante (narrating): There wasnât any reason to fight. The knightâs captainâs absence didnât cause any particular inconvenienceâŠ
Lante (narrating): In terms of strength, the next captain should be Dante. But everyone voted unanimously against it.
<<Soldier 1: Wonât do>>
<<Soldier 2: Thatâs impossible>>
<<Soldier3, 4: Nope>>
Lante (narrating): For me, I couldnât help with much as usual.
Lante (thinking): At least Iâm doing my best chopping woodâŠ
<<SFX: roll>>
Page 4
Lante: HaaaaahhhâŠ
Soldier: Hey Lante
Soldier: Help me run an errand for a bit
Lante: Errand? What?
Soldier: Itâs delivering something
Lante: Sure
(Lante: So, to where?)
(Soldier: The nearby armory)
<<SFX: heavy>>
Lante (narrator): âŠâThe official odd job doerâŠâ
(Lante: Super damn heavyâŠ)
Lante (thinking): âŠItâs fine thoughâŠ
Soldier: Wow, sure is a lot, huh!
Page 5
Soldier 1: You brought this many back by yourself? It must have been heavy
Lante: Wait (breathe)
Soldier 1: But why so much againâŠ
Lante: Ah, there havenât been any big disputes, soâŠ
Lante: It seems like theyâre bringing them over to us to be repaired
Soldier 2: OhâŠthatâs why
Soldier 1: Yeah thatâs true. Itâs not like this kinda peacefulness would last forever
Soldier 1: Then weâll take care of this
Lante: Sure, Iâll leave it to you.
Soldier1: Ah, wait a second
Page 6
Soldier1: Hereâs your tip
Lante: Eh, are you sure!?
Soldier 1: Ya brought over such heavy things. Buy something for someone ya like
Lante: Like?!
Lante: I donât have someone like that
Soldier 1: Sooner or lateeeer
Soldier 2: Youâre probably secretly performing the Aruosumente, right? (That one, that one)
Lante: Aru⊠Whatâs that?
Soldier 1: You donât know what the Aruosumente is?
Soldier 1: Itâs divination using dreams
Soldier 2: Eh? I heard itâll make your wishes come true though?
Page 7
Soldier 1: You take a black stone and envelope it in a white cloth like this (this way)
Soldier 1: And hold it while youâre sleeping. If you do that, the sage will appear and tell you about anything
Soldier 2: Thatâs wrong, itâs supposed to make your wish come true
Lante: âŠ
Lante: Thatâs hella shady (ueeeh)
Soldier 1: Right!!
<<Voices: Gahaha>>
Soldier 3: Aruosumente? Oh yeah, yeah I heard of that
Soldier 4: Isnât it dream divination? Plucking flower petals is much easier. I used to do that a lot
Soldiers: What? Is there someone you like? (Ooh?! No way?!
Lante: No (Why are we talking about that?!)
Page 8
Lante (narrating): Thatâs ridiculous
Lante (thinking): Fortune telling huh, thatâs stupid (And thereâs nothing to do today as wellâŠ)
Lante (thinking): I need to find something more useful to spend my time
Lante (thinking): âŠThe tip I got
Lante (thinking): What should I use it onâŠ
Lamia (quote): Read books!!
Page 9
Lante: âŠ
Lante: Books⊠I wonder if I can buy them
Lante (narrating): Speaking of which, I received a dictionary
Lante (narrating): I used it a little and read a bit of it but the books that the army has arenât interesting. So with that
(Lante: Legislation?*)
((*TL note: I have no idea what the first character is; I honestly canât read Akiâs handwriting sometimes. It looks vaguely like ç«æł, so Iâm going to assume itâs that.)
Lante: âŠ
Salesperson: Ah, if itâs that
Salesperson: It should be around here. That bookâs very worn so Iâll sell it to you for cheap
Lante: Itâs full of pictureâŠ
Salesperson: Is it too easy?
Lante: âŠ
Lante: âŠItâs fine (I canât read it)
Salesperson: Thank you! Iâll give you a bonus, so work hard!! Here!
Lante: What book is that
Salesperson: Who knows? It didnât sell at all so Iâll give it to you
Salesperson: The title is also gone. Work hard so you can read this one day!
Lante: âŠYouâre just trying to get rid of your garbage right?
Lante: Whatever, Iâll just take it!
Lante: Thereâs nothing over there for me to read anyways.
Page 10
Narrator: In the end, the picture book was quickly finished
Lante (thinking): âŠboring (tsk)
Lante (thinking): I guessâŠIâll read this dirty bookâŠ
<<SFX: Worn>>
Lante (thinking): Uwah, itâs really so dirty (Smelly!!)
Lante: AâŠL
Lante: This, is this the title? Maybe? (Stinky)
Lante (thinking): I canât read it (NextâŠ)
Lante: âŠMeans? âInvestigation,â âdreamâ
Lante: Sage
Page 11
Lante: AL
Lante: Ah
Lante: âAruosumenteâ
Lante (narrating): Thatâs, only just a bit ago
Lante (narrating): Had I heard about it
Lante (thinking): Wasnât it love fortune telling
Lante (narrating): âThatâs wrongâ
Page 12
Lante (narrating): âItâs supposed to grant wishesâ
Lante: âŠ
Lante: I canât read much of it because itâs so dirty, but
Lante (narrating): When I look closely at it, itâs a elegant book
Lante (thinking): Like its decorations...
Lante: This is not a âlove fortune tellingâ
Lante: Book
Lante (narrating): What does this mean? âA wish grantingâ book?
Page 13
Lante (narrating): Having an ancient and honorable originâ in history and elsewhere
Lante: A ritual like sorcery?
Lante: MagicâŠ? It shouldnât be
Lante (narrating): But the oracle is like magic, mythical, defying reason
Lante: âŠ
Lante (narrating): It canât be magic
Lante (narrating): But then, what is the oracle?
Page 14
Lante (narrating): The oracle is the oracle and he punishes people
Lante: Thatâs it. In other words, in this world
Lante: The things that defy reason âexists in realityâ and presumably functions this way. At least, the country believes so.
Lante: If so, the oracle is
Lante: Thatâs it
<<SFX: clunk>>
Page 15
Dante: âŠYouâre reading. Itâs time to eat
Lante: Ah, mhm, got it
Dante: âŠ
<<Dante: Stares>>
Lante: What?
Dante: âŠNo
Dante: Itâs nothing
Lante: Oh ok, letâs hurry up and go
Page 16
Lante (thinking): Originally, I was the one having that one sided conversation with him, but
Lante (narrating): He canât talk with me and my conversations with Dante are very scarce
Lante (thinking): Well, itâs not like talking⊠âŠ?
Lante: âŠWhat?
Lante: What happened?
Soldier 1: Itâs a sortie!
Lante: A sortie
Soldier 2: Stop messing around!!
Page 17
Soldier 2: Havenât you learned your lesson?!! Werenât we not supposed to speak about matters regarding the army!?
Soldier 2: We havenât even practiced and you think itâs fine to simply send the âThe Chariotâ** out, right
((**TL note: I think both Egscans and I have translated Danteâs nickname âæŠè»â as âtank.â Iâm going to use âChariotâ instead of âtankâ from now on because itâs more appropriate for the time period and Dante is supposed to represent the tarot card Chariot.))
Soldier 3: But there was an order sent via the oracleâs name. We canât oppose it
Soldier 2: But!
Soldier 2: Canât we mobilize troops from other forts? Compared to our opponents, we are lacking in soldiers
Soldier 3: But if the âNoir Trayrdâ*** is present, then our numbers will be sufficient
Soldier 2: Donât be foolish!! What will happen if we canât stop him!? That monster canât differentiate between ally and foe!! What if he kills someone again!!
Page 18
Lante (narrating): At that time, I was worried if everyoneâs heartless words hurt Dante
Lante (narrating): The battle was more violent than expected
Lante (narrating): Both sides were wounded
Lante (narrating): At the end, Dante was the last person left to drive them off
Soldier: He stopped but, everyoneâs afraid to approach him
Page 19
Lante: âŠDante
Lante (narrating): Actually
Lante: Are you okay? Do you
Lante (narrating): I was a little afraid
Lante: Recognize me?
Lante (narrating): Because I rejected Dante
Lante (narrating): His voice
Page 20
Lante (narrating): It wasnât that it couldnât reach me

Richter: Didnât I say Iâd do something about it?  Thereâs no way youâre gonna kill Kian. Throwing a tantrum over things you canât doâŠ
Lante: You also wonât be able to do what you said youâd do, captain
Richter: Shut up with your complaining and hand over the spear!!
Lante: âŠDante
Richter: Didnât you hear what we were saying?
Richter: He said heâs gonna die for your sake, yet youâll still support him?
Page 3
Richter: Same to you. Why arenât you able to kill that fox?
Richter: âŠ
Richter: Like I said, the punishment for the knights-
Dante: Is the punishment frightening?
Dante: Then whoever puts out the punishment, Iâll kill for you
Page 4
Richter: âŠWhat kind of joke is this
Dante: Why canât you do what you are able to do
Richter: Are you dumb? Iâm not able to do it
Dante: Why canât you do it? I can stop whatâs going to cause you to lose your life
Dante: Are you valuing your life?
Dante: Thatâs why youâre weaker than me
Richter (narrating): âŠWhoever puts out the punishment, huh
Richter: âŠyou
Page 5
Richter: So are you
Richter: Telling me to become king?
Page 6
<SFX Legna yawns>>
<<SXF Legna: Ah>>
Legna: Um
Kian: Is that so, youâre sleepy?
Legna: No um
King: My apologies for having a long discussion when the oracle is tired
Kian: Then, letâsâŠ
Legna (thinking): âŠItâs not really that Iâm tiredâŠ
Page 7
Legna (thinking): I wonderâŠif itâs ok for the oracle to be like thatâŠ
Legna (narrating): If the oracle were killed, the one who killed the country canât be forgiven
Richter: An imposter?
Soldier1: Yes, they said the oracle is an imposter
Soldier1: Speaking of the oracle, thatâs been said about him butâŠno one really knowsâŠ
Page 8
Soldier2: By the way, at Granburg
Soldier1: Oh, where they said the oracle killed their king
Soldier3: After the oracle was gone, they were somehow attacked from behind. But they ended up winning. It was like the country proved they wouldnât be destroyed even though their oracle was gone.
Richter (narrating): âŠSomething like âItâs fine if Iâm goneâ
Richter (thinking): Being so confidently by his majestyâs side
Richter (narrating): With his majesty looking like he knows everything
Richter (thinking): Those again, with those pitiful storiesâŠ
Page 9
Richter (narrating): Such an uncertain meaning to existence
Richter (narrating): He has power. We are dominated. If we were eliminated, judged
Richter (thinking): âŠI see, because
Richter (narrating): The way to become king, rather than defeating that entity, the easier method isâŠ
Richter: âŠ
Richter: Dante
Page 10
Richter: Are you the devil?
Dante: âŠMy parents called me that
Richter: Inviting me to join in an instant, when did you get so good at talking?
Dante: âŠI didnât say anything
Lante: Wh-what kind of talk is this? Didnât I say I would do the killing?
Page 11
Dante: You just protect me. You donât have to do anything
Lante: âŠ!
Lante: Youâre the one who shouldnât do anything!!
Richter: Lante, you be quiet. That pipe dream doesnât matter right now
Lante (narrating): Adults are always in a place where children canât reach. Children know the conversations that they donât understand
<<SFX: tap>>
Page 12
<<SFX: still talkingâŠ>>
Legna (thinking): âŠDad said heâd be coming backâŠ
Legna: âŠSo boringâŠ
Lante (narrating): Speaking of unclean words, something like âdesire to monopolizeâ
Lante (narrating): It seems like captain says he wants to overthrow the king
Lante (narrating): However, he has no intentions of putting that into action
Page 13
Lante (narrating): But, if there was a method to eliminate the oracle
Lante (narrating): I believe there is a way
Lante (narrating): But simply that âevil intentionâ may draw in the oracleâs sharp ears. That, I do not know.
Lante (thinking): Why, why arenât they listening to what Iâm saying?
Lante (thinking): Why!? Why does Dante understand this conversation when I donât? Didnât I say I would do it
It doesnât seem like EgScans is scanlating Aruosumente anymore, so Iâll start translating as much of it as I can in my spare time. Since Aki seems to have put Aruosumente on hiatus, I think I can catch up to the latest chapter (c. 41).
Dw, I think she may pick it up soon, since the end of volume 6 had an announcement saying that volume 7 will be released sometime 2017. She recently picked up illustration jobs for a lot of light novels (most recently, Fairy Kiss and Sapporo Undersong) and started getting back to making doujinshi, so sheâs been pretty busy lately.
Iâm going to finish translating Aruosumente Chapter 30 sometime later today and post the translated dialogue. So far I have almost all of chapter 30 and 39 done.Â
Iâll only post translations to dialogue; no scans, sorry! Please buy Aruosmente to show your support. Iâm sure itâll encourage her to draw Aruosumente more regularly if she sees the sales go up! CDJapan purchase link, Amazon purchase link (includes kindle ver.)
Edit: Fixed some typos, including some big ones...
I didnât think Iâd be able to finish it, but i buckled down and got it done;;;;
Chapter 31 translation

TL notes beforehand:
I donât believe EgScans made it clear in their translations, but Richter speaks very casually towards subordinates unless itâs a very serious situation. I tried to convey that in my translations â E.g.ăèŠăçźă«ă ăŸăăăłăȘăăâ âDonât be tricked by whatcha see.â If he said ăèŠăçźă«ă ăŸăăăȘăăălike a normal person, I would have just translated it as âDonât let your eyes deceive you.â I couldnât convey this in all of his conversations, but just to let you all know how he speaks towards other characters like Lante and Dante. Heâs actually a really chill guy, but would come off as scary if he didnât speak this way...
Page 1
Lante (narrating): This is
Lante (narrating): Do you understand it? Can you believe it?
Lante (narrating): With these words, can they be conveyed?
Lante (narrating): Or could it be, if the one who said it isnât âmeâ
Lante (narrating): I wonder if there was someone who listened
Narrator: Like a âflowerâ
Narrator: Like a ârainbowâ
Narrator: Like the âlightâ
Lante (thinking): âŠ
Lante: I-

Soldier: Sorry for making you wait, Captain Richter. Thank you for making the journey
Richter: What, that was barely a journey. Howâs everyone doing?
Soldier: About the change in the countryâs border, the news bearer said it was peacefulâŠ
Richter: âŠOh
Richter: It must be your first time seeing them
Page 6
Soldier: Are theyâŠthe kids you talked about beforehand
Richter: Yeah
Richter: They seem like normal kids butâŠ
Richter: Donât be tricked by whatcha see. The older bro can even beat me
Soldier: âŠYou must be joking
Richter: I used to think that too
Richter: âŠUnfortunately, he can really win against 300 people
Richter: Even Lamia died
Richter: Where did you guys hear this
Soldier:  âŠIt seems like everyone knows about itâŠ
Richter: Then our talk will be short
Page 7
Richter: Just as you can see, they would be normal brats but
Richiter: For them at least, they had no choice. They also realized the fact
Richter: Lamia died but thanks to them, no one else died. Thatâs why regarding the national border matters, everyone decided they âwonât blame the twinsâ
Richter: Though thereâre disagreements, please understand
Richter (narrating): At that time, I did all I could
Richter (narrating): None of the knights blamed us
Richter (narrating): Gradually, I came to know that
Page 8
Lante (thinking): âŠthe castleâŠ
Lante (narrating): We knew committed murder
Lante (narrating): In the middle of the night, Dante would wake up
Lante (narrating): Not say anything, and look at the moon
Lante (narrating): There was a small quarrel at the country border and Dante, who happened to be there,
Lante (narrating): went to fight, killed the enemy, and returned
Page 9
Lante (narrating): The all of the enemies were afraid
Lante (narrating): Of such strength
Lante (narrating): There was then hesitance to attack this country
Lante (narrating): If this continues at this rate
Lante (narrating): There may be a day where there will be no one attacking this country
Lante (thinking): But if this continues like this
Lante (thinking): What will happen to Dante
Page 10
Lante (narrating): Each time Dante kills an enemy, he looks at the moon
Lante (thinking): Itâs almost as if he canât see me
Dante (quote from past): âHave I forgotten about you too?â
Richter: There is opposition to Dante leaving the castle for battle
Richter: I also think he should stay in the castle
Richter: When he goes berserk, thereâll be people hurt. Itâs become worse and worse. One day, even you mightnât be able to stop him
Richter: But thereâs been an order for him to leave for the front. Â It canât be helped
Page 11
Lante: OrderâŠ
Richter: Yeah it was released under the oracle Kianâs name. Go oppose it
Richter: It was from inside the castle. To complain about it from hereâŠwhatever, it shouldnât matter
Lante (thinking): âŠover there, Kian-sama is livingâŠâŠ
Page 12
Lante: ?? ? (I canât see)
Richter: Ey, donât put on such a bitter lookinâ face. Youâll get us in trouble
Lante: ? Trouble?
Richter: They got them sharp ears. Be careful
Lante: ??
Lante: âŠWhy?
Richter: Oracles are like that, arenât they?
Lante: Saying bad things will get us in trouble? Itâs not through godâs revelations?
Richter: Ill will towards the king is opposition to the country, right? The oracle senses that beforehand to protect the king
Richter: In the past, each king had an oracle. They exist to protect the king.
Richter: Thatâs whyâŠ
Soldier: Captain Richter, can you come here for a sec?
Page 13
Richter: Okay, coming now
Richter: Well anyways, donât ask any more questions ok? This time, his majesty is interested in you guys, so I gotta bring you with me. If ya go berserk on castle grounds, my headâs going straight off!! Remember that!!
Lante: He said theyâll realize when his majesty is in danger and protect him
Dante: âŠ
Lante: Amazing, huh
Dante: âŠ
Page 14
Lante: Itâs almost like
Lante: You Dante
Lante: Hey, if I were the king. I would treasure you, who protects me.
Lante: I wonder if itâd be ok if you didnât go fight
Dante: âŠDo you want to become the king?
Lante: âŠI donât really think so... (Doesnât being a king seem like a bother?)
(Dante: âŠ)
Page 15
Narrator: After listening to the conversation
Narrator: The captain went to the castle to update his majesty on the current situation. Unfortunately, the next dayâs meeting did not occur.
Narrator: Whatever it is, some kind of important event happened with the oracleâs oracle about the children
Richter: âŠIâm bored
Richter: Might as well go make some rounds!
Lante: A walk!? I wanna go!!
Richter: Itâs not a walk!! To begin with, those guys have been treating us like guests. Creeps me out (tsk)
(Soldiers: Captain, because youâve been working hard, please sit down!! Please take a break!! You donât have to do anything!!)
Richter: Sitting like this is putting me out of shape
Richter: Patrolling to the very end of the grounds is pretty good exercise. Lante, donât poop out midway
(Lante: I wonât!!)
Page 16
(Richter: Câmon letâs go)
(Lante: Okay!!)
Narrator (Lante?): Regarding the border, there havenât been any disputes
Narrator: The chances of Dante going berserk is low. I was in low spirits. This diversion was the best thing possible.
Narrator: The weather was also good
Lante: You can see the castle from anywhere
Richter: In this area, thatâs the biggest thing around
Richter: Everyone around us wants it, so theyâve been fighting for it
Narrator: The captain was in a good mood too
Lante: âŠhuuuuuuuuhh
Richter: âŠhm?
Page 17
Lante: ?
Richter: Whoâs there? No oneâs supposed to be using itâŠ
Lante: Huh, are those people from the order of the knights?
Richter: Seems like it (hm)
Richter: Are they trying to hide the fact theyâre skipping work from me? I wonât let them go
Lante: âŠ
Lante: âŠCaptain, you seem to be having funâŠ
Richter: Shadddup, letâs go
Richter: One, two
Richter: Ey, you guys
Richter: Whoâre hiding from me
Page 18
Richter: What are youâŠ
Richter: âŠWhat are you doing
Lante:
Soldier: âŠ
Page 19
Richter: Stop whispering to each other!! Answer me!!
Richter: What is this!!?
Soldier: Captain, we planned to tell you this tonight. Please understandâŠ! We
Soldier: This country has been thinking about eliminating the oracleâŠ!!
Page 20
Richter: âŠHowâre you planning to eliminate the oracle
Richter: Thatâs enough, put away the weapons. Whatâre you going to do if the oracle finds out
Soldier: This is where the oracleâs childâs examination took place
Soldier: After that, no one paid any more attention to it⊠Itâs the perfect place to hide the weapons
Richter: Thatâs enough, put them away
Soldier: Captain Richter!! Donât you feel itâs unfair!? Itâs because of Kian that the vice-captain died right!?
Page 21
Soldier: Are we going to stay quiet and listen to them?! If the oracle isnât removed, the country will be ruined
Soldier: The other countries have proved it. Kian should be killed!! WeâŠthe order of the knights have been waiting for the day captain returns!!
Richter: If I brought that matter up to his majesty tomorrow, you guys shouldnât be a part of it
Soldier: ButâŠ
Richter: If Kian were to be murdered, exactly how many people will be executed?
Page 22
Richter: If someone has to do it, Iâll be the one. You all shouldnât take part
Richter: If I donât do that, everyone will be killed. Do you think Iâd allow something like that?
Richter: If you guys understand that, take out weapons. Is it just this place?
Soldier: No, there are othersâŠ
Richter: âŠhow much have you guys even got
Soldier: Taking them all out in a day is a littleâŠ
Richter: Huh!?
Page 23
Dante: Lante
Lante (narrating): Why
Lante (narrating): Havenât I thought of it
Lante (thinking): thatâs it
Lante (narrating): I donât have any strength, or value, or use. If everyone dies, then thereâd just be people who shouldnât be here left
Lante: Then
Page 24
Lante: Then I should
Lante: Be the one who kills him
Lante (narrating): Dante seems to have said something
