I don't recall exactly, maybe the first picture I drew of a pale orc was in 2018, or maybe 2019? But it doesn't matter. What matters is the labor and what can be achieved with proper effort and patience. Despite all the cringe the author gets from his old work, it's very useful to go back sometimes to evaluate your new level.
That's a pretty weird feeling it brings up. For so many years I've been waiting for the moment when I could reach an acceptable level to give “life” and “love” to the characters, to move the fandom and not let the characters disappear into the depths of the internet. So much youthful passion was put into those first crooked pictures. Now I look at it all with a calm, warm feeling. It's like a mug of hot tea after a long drive in a winter blizzard.
