‘Into the Welcoming Hour’ is the project that is based on performative and sociological research. The aim of the research is to cultivate empathy, increase the level of diversity and enable intersectional encounter through building the trust and decoding relational patterns. ‘Into the welcoming hour’ is an open collective of people working in cooperation with other living forms.

Our research started in 2018 and it has been functioning in the form of laboratory of ecological human and non-human relations where we have been applying different performative methods and techniques to identify, work out and heal the social trauma. By opening the dialogic spaces on interpersonal level, we contribute to the healing process on planetary basis through defining, verbalizing and acting the liberation that intertwines individual and social distress. Along with that we are working on creation of the vision of the future and affirmation of the values that are necessary to create a space in which all species inhabiting it could coexist harmoniously and ecologically. And perhaps now more than ever we feel the need to create a common dialogue and space for it, whether in virtual or physical space.

Gilles Well's adventures (Prologue and chapter 1)  - Prologue: The Sorcerer's Apprentice / Chapitre 1: Sorry about the last time

The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a video performance that is activated from distance.

During this performance, we follow, in a subjective manner, the travels of an amateur magician on his computer.

The action crystallizes around an attempt, explained, dreamed, and interpreted, of the "Vanishing Trick", a magic trick of making someone disappear from a physical space.

Sorry about the last time is the second chapter of Gilles Well's adventures.

Following the tragic events that occurred during the previous performance, the spectator is given the opportunity to begin the investigation of Gilles Well's adventures by accessing, via a password, the control of his computer at his home.

Kevin Senant is a french artist graduated from the HEAR (Strasbourg) in 2011 and currently based in Brussels (Belgium).

His exploration of image and narration is marked by cinema, as much as it is by computer science, and internet communication systems.  He extends these pluralities of information, into those that broadcast media into video. He dissects filmic expression, to then burst, blur, duplicate, and diffract its signal. 

His work has been shown in Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Iran, Indonesia, Italy, Poland, Spain, Usa.

The Is No Planet B

The performance There Is No Planet B takes place in various sites, where humans have made either permanent or remarkable destruction. The sites are for example a clearcutting site, a quarry and a peat bog, where the nature will not be able to recover to how it was before the human touch. In the performance I am continuously waving a flag made of silver-golden space blanket, which is representing the No-Nation flag or the Planet Earth flag. The performance is a performative ritual for an aspiration for change in the times of global environmental emergency.

The performance consists of two parts:

1)        on Friday a one hour live performance without a live audience taking place in one of the sites of destruction in Finland. The performance will be documented with one photograph, which will be send to the festival right after the performance is fished.

2)        on Saturday a premier for a video work, which is filmed in various sites of destruction in May 2020. The video will be presented as a video installation and can be also presented online, if wanted.

Leena Kela is a performance artist, artistic director of the New Performance Turku Festival, a director of the Saari Residence and doctoral candidate at the University of the Arts Helsinki. In her works she explores dialogue between corporeality and materiality in performance art. She makes performances that play with and twist our relationship with everyday objects.

You Are the Oracle

‘The performance has two parts: public and private. In the public part, I am going to make a divination about the future of art through tarot and oracle cards. In the private part, anyone is invited to come to my chamber and ask a question about art in general, about his/her own artistic development or even focus on personal themes. There is a reservation possibility and a person can also approach me spontaneously.’

Jana Orlová (1986) is a poet and a performer. Her poems were translated into several languages. She published 4 poetry books. She treats performance art as living poetry. She gained the "Objev roku 2017" Breakthrough Act Award 2017 at Next Wave Festival for "crossing the boundaries of literature, fine art and theatre naturally and with ease".

'Bubny Voices'

An audioinstallation created out of field recordings collected around Bubny railway station by local inhabitants. Originally the piece was supposed to be made as a site specific performance at Nádraží Bubny resulted from an artistic research of the area. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and closed borders, invited artists did not have access to the area and decided to approach it through impressions of the local residents, guiding them through exploration of their voices at Bubny

Kyiv-based electronic musicians, composers, and members of Womens Sound platform. Both experiment with field recordings and site-specific works. Olesia aka NFNR is a choir conductor, theater composer, and leftfield producer. Anna aka unwavemenot has a background in urban anthropology, classical piano, and DJ-ing. Both work with the idea of music for non-musicians integrating listening practices into everyday life
