Naked Eyes’ flop single “(What) In The Name of Love” had the bad fortune to come out just as U2 released “Pride (In The Name of Love),” and the rockers won out on the charts. It didn’t help that Naked Eyes’ video was painfully sexist even by the low standards of the day and thus didn’t get aired much. All of which is a shame because the Arthur Baker produced, Latin Rascals mixed 12” version ticks along like a fine Swiss watch; it coulda been and shoulda been a fondly remembered hit of the era.
