Do you think Elio shoulder-biting Oliver shortly before their first time was in the script or an acting choice? This question keeps me up at night...
Hahaha bless you for this ask. This is my kind of discussion. ;)
I haven’t read the script so I’m not sure if it was scripted or not, and that right there is the reason I don’t read the scripts. IF it was scripted I don’t want to know. I don’t want to ruin the idea I have about that scene. I’ve never seen a love scene so real before. You know what I mean? For me, there was no line between Elio and Oliver and Timmy and Armie. Some say that’s unprofessional and there’s no way that is what was going on there. But. I’m old as balls and have seen my fair share of intimate moments on screen and there’s beat them all hands down. It was enthralling and I can’t imagine Luca didn’t do just like they said during the rehearsal scene and say “Go!” He set them loose and let them do what felt natural. That’s how it comes off on the screen to me.Â
So, yes, I definitely believe that shoulder-bite was more Timmy than Elio. But then Timmy IS Elio and Armie IS Oliver. This fucking movie will be the death of me. xoxoxo
