MORE IN MY STORIES Last night I ventured out in The Lou dolo & enjoyed something called #arthackday: which merged St. Louis' budding #techstartup and art. LOUIS TECH STARTUP SCENE INTERNATIONAL ART EXPOSURE International art and tech event series, Art Hack Day, comes to #StLouis engaging 40 emerging #artists for a 48-hour marathon #hackathon and #exhibition August 17-19 in a special #Eclipse themed edition hosted in the @4240 Building in the Cortex District In the midst of an eclipse, what is taken for granted is called into question. Just as the darkness elicits wonder and fear, perhaps it also sparks inspiration. The world has been shadowed by the specter of crisis: political regression and entrenchment, the unrelenting weight of systemic #oppression and inequality, unchecked climate change, the unknown consequences of globally deployed artificial intelligence, the ruptured boundaries of global #capitalism; Art Hack Day asks ‘what agency do artists have to respond effectively? What roles does artistic inquiry play in illuminating the path to a more #sustainable, just, and equitable future?’ I enjoyed the exhibits & talked to a couple of the artists. So cool!
