I don’t think we’re giving Director Natthanon Kheedee the adequate plaudits for what they’ve accomplished this year with Fourever You Part 2, tho. They debuted as a director and delivered what are essentially THREE different series back-to-back, each wildly different in tone: one a sensitive drama, the second a tragicomic ghost story, and the third a high school rivals-to-lovers story integrated with a mafia action plot. And, not only did they all work on an entertainment and visual level with fantastic performances across each ensemble, but it launched two of those lead pairs, who had previously been all-but-forgotten as actors in the genre, into legitimate fame. And Khun Natthanon still doesn’t even have a profile picture on MDL!
It’s easy to ignore the immensity of the accomplishments here because it’s all under the Fourever You Part 2 title, but each segment was the length of a full series, contained a host of different actors, and used entirely different styles to tell their stories. Name another BL director who could boast this kind of success to kick off their career. I’ll wait.
