RavenThorn tours the local ‘Wood, Glass & Clay’ exhibit at the Old City Hall in Redding California. Hosted by the Shasta Community Arts Council ‘Wood, Glass & Clay’ features works in the three aforementioned mediums. Raventhorn enjoyed seeing bespoke woodworking and furniture amongst the offerings on display. Depicted here are three bespoke tables that were on display. We found the craftsmanship excellent and the pricing very approachable. We look forward to diving deeper into the local art scene as we advance our curation search.

Artist Statement
I paint things based on disturbance, irritation, and negative things. Because everyone will show you their good side but not bad sides. You may know that l am a Muslim from my name and in Muslims we perform Namaz five times a day. In this Namaz we keep every thing and our thoughts aside and focus on Namaz. But as a visual artist whatever see it attracts me and disturbs me to focus. For example: We put Ja-namaz (mat on which namaz is performed) on that Ja-namaz there are some designs and I feel lost in those designs or when I do sajda (prostration), some coins roll down from my pocket and go somewhere.These things disturb me. No one will tell you, 'while performing namazI was thinking about this and that' because this is not a good thing in Islam. So, I tried to paint this feeling of disturbance in this series "Reveries before the salvation".
