Remember yesterday's WIP? This is how it looks now 😂 Joking aside, I've decided that maybe this isn't the best time to attempt an unfamiliar medium. I do have an extra panel but it doesn't feel right for me to push this right now. What's important to me is that I finally TRIED. I've been fearful yet fascinated about painting on wood for a couple of years. I did get something right yesterday but it wasn't enough. I think it's okay to put down my brush for now and experiment on the panels on my own time. There is a big learning curve for what I want to achieve and I only realized it yesterday as I got so frustrated when I couldn't visualize how I wanted the end result to look like. I'm a "slow burn" so to speak. Everything I do is actually a result of months or years of figuring things out on and off. Letting questions of how I can do something simmer in my mind until it has enough ingredients for cooking. Right now, I think I'm at the "gathering ingredients" stage. My unfamiliar use of acrylics is a hit or miss and it shows. I think it's best for me to give time learning the paint's characteristics and what colors work for wood. It's challenging. But that's the same reason I got into watercolors so I know one day I'll be able to make something after practicing a lot. Sorry to disappoint those who were excited for my painting!
