In the end, Iris finds him in Wells’ secret little room. She should’ve figured out he’d be here sooner – Barry has always had the tendency to flee somewhere that would hurt him even more rather than calm him down. It’s been the same when they were kids, though back then Barry might actually have thought the sight of his old house would comfort him. But then, his nightmares had always been worse when he’d been to the place he’d seen his mother be murdered.
In a twisted way, it would make sense that he’d end up in the secret hide-out of the guy who caused him so much pain.
Truth be told, she doesn’t even see him at first. Barry is curled up in a corner of the room, pressing his knees so hard into his chest that it must be painful. His face is hidden against them, but even so she can tell that he’s crying.
She would, too, if she were him.
