"There you are" Jean whispered to himself, reaching for his bottle that had fallen between the bleachers. Once he had it back, he sat and took a sip from it, watching the end of the cheerleader's practice. Might as well enjoy the view now he was here.
Once the girls had finished and scattered he swung his bag on his shoulders and set off, spotting one of the cheerleaders hanging around. She had her back turned to him, hair tied in a loose ponytail, but even from this distance, Jean recognised her. He’d seen her around before, always with a smile and usually with some kind of snack in hand. Today, though, she looked like she was just winding down, completely absorbed in her stretches.
Jean approached, casually tossing his water bottle between his hands. “You guys work hard, huh?” he called out with a smirk, his tone light but curious as he leant against the bleachers. “Guess I underestimated you. I’ve seen you out there keeping up with the football team’s energy.” He nodded toward her, genuinely impressed. “I’m Jean, by the way. You’re Sasha, right? We share a class”
