#arrow speculations

So Stephen just posted this:

Several things: it looks like the old foundry, right? The screen is green as well as a little something on the side. 

My first focus was the little object. Because whatever is on the screen could be literally about anyone or anything and it’s just too vague. But an object of this size being a potential spoiler? It has to be sthing we know.

My take? It’s the notebook. Now *why* would it be a spoiler? I feel like the computer either shows Promy’s identity, or his father’s identity (because Oliver’s actions in S1 leading to Promy kinda make me think of the father being killed) or something different like Oliver Queen. Yes, Oliver Queen. Not Oliver = Prometheus though, but hear me out. This really looks like the old foundry yet with furniture I have never seen (unless you can refresh my memory). What if it’s Promy’s lair? We know his plan is to force the GA to unmask his real identity. Hence why I think he might be searching Oliver.

And then I thought about the notebook... it was probably confiscated with everything else in S3 when the cops raided the place... so if Promy has the notebook... then chances are he might be a cop. That’s how he got his hands on it in the first place. 

Also, isn’t it interesting that out of all the people Promy could have killed in the premiere, he killed a cop... and not only a cop but  amember of the AntiCrime Unit... and who is recruited for that unit in 505?

Yep. Malone. Felicity’s BF. The blander than mayo BF. Now I thought no way they’ll make him Prometheus he is WAY too bland... but these are the GOTCHA writers. No one would see Malone as potential Promy because it’s like... no. Also the fact that Promy wears a complete identity concealement to me kinda proves it’s a character we have seen before (whatever the season) more than “just” a connection to S1. 

So maybe this is Promy’s lair, maybe Team Arrow finds it and stumble on that, maybe we see Promy in there, who knows?

But doesn’t it make sense to have the bunker be the old lair of Blood, and Oliver’s old lair be the one of the big bad? Everything old is new again?

I hate the idea of Felciity’s BF being the big bad. I hate the idea to have her manipulated and used as a vulgar pawn. That’s damseling in distress at its finest to me. But the notebook maybe being in the big bad’s lair kinda point towards a cop to me. Just my take.

Maybe Promy is another cop though or the DA or any other member of the law enforcement.

Or I’m wrong and it’s Tommy (insert hearteyes) like I already specced a few weeks ago. Or it’s somebody completely different.

OK... so I know this is probably going to sound a bit... WTF BUT please hear me out.

We know FP is going to affect Arrow and also that some effects are going to stick, OK? We don’t know exactly for how long, although based on what was said during TCA, it is safe to assume two episodes on Flash (and seeing that Felicity gives Barry “advice”, it is also a safe bet to think that maybe she helps him reverse it.)

We (or most of the speculations I’ve seen at least) all assumed that FP would be, in some way, “bad”. Like the BF might be FP related for instance. But... what if we’re seeing this the wrong way? After all, on the Flash, FP is actually “good”: it’s a nice, pretty reality that is actually empty and fake deep down but at first sight it’s... pretty perfect. 

What if it’s the same on Arrow? 

Based on many spoilers, including the two truths one lie from Ramsey at HVFF (Olicity together at the beginning of S5, MM part of Team Arrow and LP not destroyed), I came up with a something slightly different. Because our reaction was the lie is Olicity together, right? But then the other two must be the truth and... it’s kinda weird?

Bear with me (or bare with me, I never know), for this might be long because I try to be as detailed as possible (and because time-travel is just so fucking confusing):

Arrow 501: It is FP. And guess what? FP is kinda cool at first. Oliver and Felicity are together. Yup  Why? MM is on Team Arrow (second truth. LP is still destroyed, that is the lie then in my speculation). But then if MM is an ally... he doesn’t kidnap William. DD doesn’t use him. And guess what... we discover that Oliver and Felicity are together because Felicity never found out about William in the first place. And the hard moment for oliciters? It’s the fact that perfect fluffy olicity is a lie and Oliver, that dumb idiot is *still* lying to her. (seeing how hard 408 was for us... we can all agree it won’t be an easy pill to swallow).

Remember that line “You keep expecting things to go back to what they were 5 months ago”? Marc told Jen it was from 505 with undertones of Olicity, right? Then we assumed he must have confused episodes because we clearly saw that line in 501 trailer. OK, so let’s roll with my theory: that line, in 501 *is* really honestly about the team. But keep reading, I’m not done with it.

Then Flash 302: Felicity shows up to give Barry advice (based on GG’s line at SDCC) and, as we think for most, she helps him reverse FP. (There will still be effects that stick though, but that’s another story). Wendy’s line about Felicity carrying something? Yes, it could totally be that knowledge of FP but it also could be something else (or something more). The knowledge that if DD hadn’t kidnapped William, Oliver would have kept lying to her all these months. 

Arrow 502: They either make a montage (previously on arrow and the flash) or sthing along those lines to explains that 501 was a fake reality. We’re back in the real TL and in this real TL yeah Felicity has a BF. Did they ever specifically say that F has a BF that we see in episode 1? Like really episode 1? They said we meet him pretty fast but I’m not positive we know for sure it’s really the first episode. (obviously if they do confirm it’s episode 1, then this whole thing is probably pointless)

Fast forwarding to 505, the olicity-centered episode. That line “You keep on expecting things to go back blabla”: Felicity repeats that line, in the real reality and this time yes it is also about olicity. They already did something similar with the time-change from the crossover: Felciity said similar lines whenever she found the truth in 408 and 415. 

During the whole season, Felicity will carry that... knowledge that Oliver kept on lying to her. But slowly she will come to terms with the fact that Oliver is changing and most importantly, this Oliver, the real one, has learned his lesson from his mistake. A lesson he never learned in FP. That knowledge might also be what pushes her towards the BF even faster. But it will also be a lesson for her that people can change when faced with consequences of their choices and Oliver will change because he will have faced the consequences of his actions. It could be very interesting to see Felicity struggling with that, IMO.

Which could bring us to Olicity back together by the end of the season and the finale of them somehow happy together, this time mirroring the premiere but in the real reality, not the fake one, showing that their relationship is now true and much, much stronger.

NB: About the things that will “stick” I believe it will impact Dig’s family. Concerned about Baby Sara being changed into Baby Connor for instance. I don’t think that the things that will stick will necessarily be directly linked to what we will see during 501 (because Dig is barely there in the first episodes anyway yet we know FP will impact him a lot)

Edit: All of this could/ is probably wrong btw. My main point was that maybe we are seeing FP the wrong way and this is what I came up with. FP will be a perfect fluffy reality on Arrow like on the Flash, but just like on the Flash it will be fake.

Blindspot star Joe Dinicol has landed a recurring role on Arrow in season 5, EW has learned exclusively.

Dinicol, who played Patterson’s ill-fated boyfriend David on the NBC series, will portray Rory Regan, the mystical DC Comics vigilante known as Ragman. Fresh from a personal tragedy, Rory hopes to find answers in Star City, where he ultimately crosses paths with Green Arrow (Stephen Amell).

Dinicol, whose credits also include The L.A. Complex and Grey’s Anatomy, will first appear in the second episode of season 5.

The actor joins an ever-expanding list of new and returning characters in season 5, including Chad L. Coleman as a new villain; Madison McLaughlin, who will reprise her role as Evelyn Sharp; Tyler Ritter as new cop Detective Malone; Rick Gonzalez, who will play Wild Dog; Carly Pope as a new Star City reporter; and Josh Segarra, who will take up the mantle of the Vigilante.

I speculate that Felicity is not over what happened with Havenrock and it will be dealt with through Ragman.

Through his actions, their evil deeds are redeemed and they are slowly allowed to ascend to Heaven. His family's lineage has passed the Ragman identity down through the centuries, including his father Gerry Regan. He has been a member of the Sentinels of Magic and Shadowpact. Ragman was created by Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert, first appearing in Ragman #1. (1976)

Suit of Souls - Origin A mystical Jewish artifact created to protect the Jewish communities ever since the time of Abraham. It is suggested that the suit has been in rotation since 1812 BCE. Over the centuries, its possessed several forms, cloak, dagger, spear, because every time it was destroyed had to be recreated in new form

Suit of Souls - Capabilities The Suit of Souls give the user the ability to summon the forces of all souls who reside there, increasing his strength, agility, durability and other several abilities.

There is an implied redemption of evil souls contained within the rag suit, but no mechanism for this has yet been shown. Rory's comments seem to indicate that this redemption is linked to the soul willingly assisting the wearer in his mission and thus slowly working off its moral debt. This process has been stated to take a century or more. While the souls power the suit, no single soul seems to make a noticeable difference in the Ragman's power levels. Accordingly, the acquisition or loss of souls as time goes by is usually not a serious concern to the current trustee of the costume.

A lot of people are talking about this and, hey, if that really puts you out, I totally support you dropping the show.

Tbh, I'm not sure how I'll react if either have love interest. I have no interest to see them dating other people and, at this point? I don't even think I could actually believe it. There is no way in my mind that I can see Oliver and Felicity together in the lair and as partners, but dating other people. That makes no sense to me. That sounds ridiculous and doesn't add up with the last four seasons. Hell, it doesn't add up with 4B.

I would love someone connected to Thea or Felicity (if we can’t get Lyla :( ).
