and no, this reveal has little to do with some popular Tal theories. I am talking about Wei Yenwu character. The game kinda wants you to sympathise with him at least somewhat so that his personal even though plot relevant family drama matters to the player. and. well. to be frank he actually worked well before this reveal as a character.

it makes sense considering what Lungmen is expy of but like. even though it could be seen that this route for characterization of Lungmen and Wei in particular was the intent since beginning, and especially with code of brawn but like. when compared to how other countries are characterized and especially ursus which is a cliche storm of evil bear country of stupid incompetence that is also very threatening (though it is likely it will be revealed not to be the major threat narratively but like, eh) It kinda becomes almost hilarious at times.

you will also have those separately well written bits of lore that when put together suddenly start looking weird together due to narrative priorities and stuff.  Though I don’t think I will talk about about most of them much ever.

also.

arknights is generally quite well written especially for a gatcha though such moments kind of kill seriousness. A lot. but eh, it is entirelly possible that as more things will be revealed, a lot of those iffy aspect will reveal themselves to be massive foreshadowing.
