Halloween 1999 “Black Wedding” Stephanie McMahon Artwork by Shanie
Hey guys! It’s my latest artwork. I figured I better complete SOMETHING (I have so damn many WIP right now between artwork and writing) so I binge-worked this one to completion.
I’m starting to experiment with shading. These are baby steps, taken with a direct photo reference. (Of my face, mind you, the dress came from memory.) About the dress. It was hand made to the best specs I could see from my crappy TV-Recorded VHS copy of RAW. I did know about the neckline stuff, but seeing as how I wasn’t the one making the dress, my mother told me to just deal without having the neck trim. Also, I did wear strips of satin on my wrists to mimic the bindings but I left them off here for aesthetic purposes. Finally, the choker was handmade by me using a black strap, a silver loop, and a bit of paint. All in all it was a satisfying costume, even if absolutely nobody knew who I was.
I know that my expression here doesn’t really match my costume, but again, I’m experimenting with shading so I had to go with what I had reference for. I don’t exactly have a photograph of me making a “Despair” face, so yeah. Smile it is. Anyway, hope you like it. I will be labeling the artwork, like all my other Halloween portraits, but I’m still deciding how to do that and make it look good.
Cheers!
