READ FULL POEM BELOW -------------------------------------------------------- As the lightning fades and you brace for the thunder, Down under, in your pillow fort of prayers, do you wonder Who is it at your door? Knocking as if they could run no more. Who is the silhouette on the pane? Did they call your name? Etch it, inane, on their foggy breath-stain? When the howling wind beats at the trees - merciless, Did your mind digress from the hot-off-the-press To the thought of confession? About the whisper you felt; And you knelt like a felled tree Victim to the howling glee. When hails ripped the midnight quiet from your calm, And you curled in a ball and sucked on your thumb, Did you ignore the cold breath caressing your back? Exclamations of fancy at explanation's lack? Have you ever shut your eyes so tight And hoped it might - Help you forget the eyes that shone From the crack of the door, Pried open by six fingers, or more That you privately swore could be bones? Then ask yourself this - Are you sure you're alone? . . . . . . . . . . . #tincanpenman #nightterror #fear_of_the_dark #areyoualone #fearisreal #hauntinglines #poetryoffear #poemoffear #poemsoffear #stormypoetry #stormynights #campfiretale #scarypoems #frightening #frightmares #frightnights #horrorpoetry #horrorpoem #scaredgames #areyouscared #nothingtofearbutfearitself #scarytales #whatareyouafraidof #whatareyouscaredof (at FEAR) https://www.instagram.com/p/CIKZBkGlJMu/?igshid=19gg08f49vmn7
