Did the math last night and realized that on the topic of femme lesbians specifically, I am only 18 books away from having every non-fiction book on the subject. Unless of course I am wrong, at which point I will have to keep digging. This is fine specifically because Diary of a (Femme) Dyke Vol. 2 arrived today and I am pleased as punch.

A beautiful friend of mine has finally stepped out of the closet as a radiant she/her. Score one for women, huzzah, we have another win for women! ... Making a birthday cake for a friend tonight (something I haven't done for a while), and I forgot how much I love baking & cake decorating. I'll post pics when I'm done, I'm very excited. 🥰

#archivist talk #the archivist regrets starting nursing school #the archivist #the archivist is a tad stressed but also this fun thing is happening so that's just dandy #i think i might have to give up on the kitchen being a place where one can sit and eat #i never use it for that personally #not because i don't want to #it just lacks the space for it and i don't have a real dining room #(my kitchen is long and narrow)#if i can figure out a good reasonable way to re-arrange the living room such that i can have both a living room AND a small dining corner #i may do that #however given the amount of bookshelves i've got going on & all my other lusts i imagine this won't happen #le sigh #i love my apartment so much #i think if i had a small dining area/dining room that would make the kitchen perfect #and if i had a den that i could put my desk/file cabinet/all adulting work in #that would free up my bedroom to be even more coquettish & focused #and also entirely comfortable #that would change a lot actually goddamn #but alas this building is not going to change #so maybe if one day i could afford a 2 bedroom that had a den .... bonus points if it has wood floors #and those arched doorways that i so love #i would be in heaven #i have to finish nursing school so i can pay for things with less stres #and also help my siblings more #and then maybe so i can get a nice home that would be super cool #but for now i must simply chill as they say

At last, I achieve victory .... the almighty Book Wall. Unfortunately I'm still gonna need another bookshelf. You know how it is.

As an act of what is perhaps futile masochism, I counted how far my collection is & then got the numbers for my archival wishlist. I just wanted to see how far along I am in achieving my own unreasonable goals. These are the results.

Current archive count: 263 books

Current to-buy list count: 900+ books

Playing loose and fast with math that means I'm, what--20-22% of the way there? With that in mind, if there are any sugar mommies out there who have a niche interest in insane & unreasonable nerds, I would like to point out that I am available and also capable of mostly behaving. <3

#thatbutcharchivist #archivist talk #archive count #i went through 5 different local bookstores today to see what they had for ye olde used LGBT texts #and they all had NOTHING #their feminist & gender studies sections were also measly beyond compare hardly more than a shelf or two #mind you these are all new bookstores i was checking out #i have my old reliables that occasionally get me something good #but also good god #i did get collected schizophrenias though i AM stoked for those #and i found a great bookstore that has a good collection of older fantasy #so that really had me frothing at the mouth #my budget hates me i was meant to be a king's eccentric artist or something #i'll sculp the finest tiddies for you my liege if in turn you will give me the $$$ for purchasing books about the tit-people (lesbians)
