Omega thought that being an older brother, or even an uncle, was difficult enough, but it had nothing on being a parent. Thankfully, he had an amazing partner in Napsta, and the ghost was so good with kids. Unfortunately, Napsta and Metta were taking a vacation for the first time since Lilium was born six years ago. They deserved it, and Omega was sure that he’d be able to watch Nucifera and Lilium, after all, Alpha was also there to lend his help.

Omega vastly underestimated how difficult it was to watch a monster kid with little help. The day started normal enough, Omega carried Nuci around from floor to floor as he made a list of AUs. Some needed to be ended soon, others still had time.

Omega placed Nuci on a filing cabinet to free up one of his hands, when he looked up, they were floating. A large smile crossed his skull, his little baby was floating! Nucifera wiggled in the air, they didn’t have legs, so they wiggled in place like a snake. Omega couldn’t help laughing a bit, he had to take a video to send to Napsta.

He looked in his pocket for his phone, taking his eyelights off of Nucifera in the process. When he looked up, they were gone. Panic shot through Omega’s Soul. Less than a full day into solo parenting and he already lost his kid.

Omega couldn’t remember the last time he ran, but he did today. He bolted to the next floor down, and hoped that Alpha was there. He was, and looking just as frantic as Omega was.

“OMEGA, LILIUM RAN AWAY WHILE I WAS WORKING, HAVE YOU SEEN HER?” Alpha asked. Omega shook his head, then asked if he had seen Nucifera. Just as he asked, Lilium ran by. They were carrying their younger sibling like a football, and they both disappeared through a wall.

“i go down, you go up,” Omega said. Alpha nodded, then ran up the stairs.

The next few hours were filled with the sound of tiny skeletal feet and small laughter, along with the panting sound of Omega’s and Alpha’s breaths. They collapsed near the staircase, just trying to catch their breaths. Thankfully, as they sat, Lilium came by, dragging Nucifera.

With Nucifera in their arms, Lilium settled down on Alpha’s lap. Within seconds, they were both asleep, peaceful expressions on their skulls.

“they’re so lucky they’re cute,” Omega said. “we’re not telling our partners about this, right?”
