Hi guys~

Not a lot to post lately, mainly because nothing has aired yet! BUT I guarantee you that whether you love/hate these Archer “theme” seasons, I know that you will at least love the artwork, because c’mon, this studio makes some great artwork ; )

What I wanted to share with you guys today is the shirt design for the San Diego ComicCon that I worked on, and some neat things you can do with it. (Just remember to download our app from the app/android store: Archer P.I.)

((I also realize that I haven’t spoken about working on the app at all, and I think some new artwork posts for that should come soon!))

So here is the final design! If you look at this (works on the computer screen too) with the camera in the app, Archer will move! HOLY COW RIGHT??!! Not only will he move, but if you turn away, and view it again, a different animation will appear! WHAT!!??!!

Ok, I will stop talking and start sharing some sketches now.

Some early versions I was playing around with. We basically knew that we wanted to go with something noir, because Dreamland was nothing but noir. After a round of notes and discussions, we landed on something a little more close up.

And basically narrowed down to the bottom two, we went with the spotlight Archer. It’s big and bold and it reads really well. One of the things we had to keep in mind for the app’s camera to work well on a targeted t-shirt was that it needs to be high contrast. 

These are still versions of what pops up on the shirt. It definitely works better on someone wearing the shirt because of where it’s positioned on the average person’s chest. Tim Ferrell did the animations for these.

This is the main target’s animation, by Courtney Hicks. Check out her work, she is an awesome illustrator and designer. She worked with me on the second half of the app design team.

And this is some whip cream animation I made for one of my favorite targets on the shirt. It lines up with da titties for some whip cream silliness.
