Today is the battle of the brow pencils!! The @elfcosmetics brow pencil in taupe has long been my absolute favorite brow pencil but I've accumulated a few more different pencils the past couple of months that I've been trying out. I have the @tartecosmetics arch architect, the @maccosmetics brow pencil and the @colourpopcosmetics brow pencil. I'm going to mainly compare the colourpop and Mac pencils to each other and the tarte and elf pencils to each other because they are similar! 1. Colourpop vs. Mac: I have the shade honey blonde in the colourpop pencil and it retails for $6. I do actually like it quite a bit! The thing with the colourpop and Mac pencils is that they are both very skinny pencils. This allows you to be more precise but also takes much longer to apply. I would definitely recommend the pencil if you like that precise application over the Mac pencil (which I have in the shade lingering and it is $18) because the colourpop pencil has a spoolie! I also just like the application of the colourpop pencil better as well. 2. Elf vs. tarte: I have the elf brow pencil in taupe and it retails for $2 the tarte arch architect retails for $24 and I think there is only one shade?! Which it somehow works for me which is nice! I lump these together because they are both a more waxy formula and have a much thicker applicator. The tarte pencil is kind of like a diamond shape and on the other end is a clear brow gel! I think that is awesome, however I just can't do my brows without a spoolie on the end which is one reason I prefer the elf pencil because it has a normal spoolie on the end. I also think that the Tarte formula is too waxy for me and it clumps up my brows. Overall, I still prefer my $2 elf pencil!! It really is so amazing and I've gone through three or four already I just love it. It's so easy to use and makes doing my brows a breeze! If they have a color that would work for you I would HIGHLY recommend the Elf pencil especially for only $2!
