The birthplace of Constantin Brancusi in Hobita, Romania. 1938 he gifted the monomental sculpture complex, the „Avenue of Heroes“ to the city of Targu-Jiu, 20km away from his birthplace. The complex, located on a 1,300-metre axis from west to east of the City, is an homage to the woman in the Gorj County, who gave their lives during the World War One. Brancusi thought „I wish my works will rise in gardens and parks, for children to play over them, like they would have played over rocks and monuments risen from the Earth, nobody knowing what they are or who made them – but everyone feeling their necessity and friendship, like something that is part of Nature’s soul! – .#constantinbrancusi #archaicart https://www.instagram.com/p/CSh4mynMQYr/?utm_medium=tumblr
