Soft light traces the nautolan’s silhouette and the coins on her skirt twinkle. Her foot slides to the right and hands hang in the air to play an invisible harp. She pauses, looking into the crowd from the stage with her lips delicately apart.

Her hips snap with the first beat. Feet stomp with another. The music raises and carries her movement, blue beads flashing as her body moves. The shimmering jewels on her prosthetic arm catch the light and the audience watches every step.  She twirls and her head tresses fly around her. Breathing increases, heart pumps, and brow sweats. The dance consumes her and time disappears.

The final beat of music grabs and holds her movement. Her chest heaves and she holds her hands above her head, staring into the audience as they whistle and shout. Someone asks for an encore. She smiles and gives a small bow before she steps off stage.

Her cybernetic hand drops a glass down on the bar. She runs her fingers through her head tresses and sighs, closing her eyes.

“Allow me to be generous to you, Aphra.” 

Twelfth regarded the young woman with careful interest, concealed behind the dark, motionless features of her helmet. 

So young, and in far too deep. “After this...mishap of yours, it feels like the greatest kindness I can offer you is the chance to convince me into ending your life quickly and mercifully myself.”

happy holidays to shelby ( @archaeotech ) ! i don’t know if you’re aware how long i’ve been admiring your blogs. like.... a really long time. first shaak ti and then trilla. i remember looking at your blogs and thinking ‘wow... now that’s quality...’. so i’m very happy that we met and have had the chance to rp with each other! i adore your muses and i absolutely mean it when i say i can perfectly hear their voices in your writing. especially aphra! i love vader and aphra shenanigans! and i’m excited to rp with your muses to come! you’re a super talented writer, artist, and overall hella funny person. i hope you have a wonderful holiday and a special new year friendo!

“vader’s favorite.” he greets her and it should be a compliment, it really should. not everyone gets to work with the second most powerful man in the empire. but they both know serving vader invokes the same unwanted feeling that comes at the edge of every precipice-- what if i jumped?

BREATH   SUCKED   OUT   of  her  lungs  by  the  aftermath  of  the  screaming  warning  in  her  mind,   Jaina  can  only  look  between  the  woman  &&  the  being  she’d  laid  out  in  a  single  remarkable  show.      Is  there  a  chance  she  would’ve  brought  out  her  saber  in  time  to  guard  herself  from  the  bolt?     Perhaps.      But  thankfully,  she  doesn’t  have  to  know.           ❝  Thanks...  ❞           It’s  shaky,  the  young  woman  allowing  herself  to  appear  as  scared  as  she  felt  for  once,  running  a  nervous  hand  over  loose  hair.     There’s  no  facade  to  keep  up,  no  one  to  lead,  only  a  woman  that  has,  arguably,  saved  her  life.     No  one  knows  her,  understands  what  power  thrums  in  her  veins  &&  seeming  softer  than  she  is  from  a  bit  of  nerves  could  only  work  in  her  favor.     For  a  moment,  she  can  relent.

No  immediate  danger  resonates  from  the  stranger  &&  Jaina’s  opposite  hand  falls  from  the  stolen  blaster  at  her  hip.     A  strained,  nearly  hysterical  laugh  slips  from  her  lips  before  she  can  catch  it  in  her  throat,  the  pilot  glancing  once  again  at  the  body.         ❝  If  he  was  trying  to  lift  me  of  some  credits,  he  would’ve  been  sorely  disappointed.  ❞         The  joke  relieves  some  of  the  tension  tugging  at  her  shoulders,  also  notifying  the  other  that  if,  on  the  off  chance,  she  has  unfriendly  intentions,  at  least  that  one  would  be  useless  to  try.
