Birthday present in the city of love - Part 2 (April 2015)
We aimed through the park in front of the Louvre museum. It was full of colors and people absorbed in different activities.
There were group of people that had fitness classes, others had jogging, others relaxed on the chairs close to the fountains intended in conversations, people that just had a walk.
The scenario was amazing due to the bloomed trees, the myriad of colorful flowers and the complicity of the sunny day. I smelled and felt the spring.
At the end of the park we arrived in âplace de la Concordeâ famous because of the executions that took places there during the French revolution (creepy). At the center of the square there is an Egyptian obelisk.
From âplace de la Concordeâ we moved through the âavenue de Champs Elyseesâ.
At the first cross-street, you will see two palaces called the âPetit palaisâ and the âGrand palaisâ which stand-out for their architecture.
We entered the âPetit palaisâ. It is a free museum with contemporary artworks. The thing that I like the most was the courtyard, which is in the middle of the palace, where you can find a very nice restaurant.
I wanted also to visit the âGrand palaisâ. I read that it is very particular for its vaults, made completely of glass, but there was a temporary exhibition and it was mandatory to buy the ticket. I almost gave up, but we walked around the palace to admire it and we found an open door that allowed us to take a photo of the vault.
At the end of this street there is the famous âAlexandre IIIâ bridge with its gold statues, which gave us a beautiful view of the Sein and the âEiffelâ tower.
We went back in the âavenue de Champs Elyseesâ and we walked through the street. It was full of tourists that crowed all shops.
It was very difficult to move along the road but at the same time was picturesque.
The triumph arch was visible at the end of the street and it became wider and wider with each step.
It is gigantic and below it I felt so small. It was very difficult to shoot a photo, it didnât fit in the background. :P
We continued in the direction of the Trocadero. Anyway I was quite disappointed when we arrived there because the view of the âEiffelâ tower was ruined due to some work in progress.
We took anyway some photos, but I was sad. We passed through the stairs and we reached the tower.
The tower is a breath-taking building. We didnât manage to go up because, when I organized the trip, it was already fully reserved. It was a misfortune because the view of the city from the top is inestimable. Â
We had some moments of relax in the grass of the âChamp de Marsâ with a lot of other people. It was amazing and charming with the âEiffelâ tower as a background. I felt like in a French film :)
