So far, it's only been two, though.

The victims were people with a fair amount of wealth. Not enough notable to catch the attention of others, but enough to catch the interest of whoever ended their lives.

Rumours said that they had ties to the least savory businesses of Zaun. Perhaps debts they couldn't pay -aside of with their lives-, maybe they were a threat to someone else, or perhaps there was a petty reason behind the unjust judgement of these people.

Whatever it was, the causes of their deaths were the same. Clean cuts at the neck from an awkward position that made it look as if they did it themselves. The initials 'C.C.' carved on their collarbones, and the lack of the weapon used for the kill, never found.

So far, the two victims weren't related at all. The only connection could've been with their shady businesses with someone from Zaun, but whoever did it, made sure to leave a mark in order to be recognized.

They were trying to catch some attention, or perhaps it was a warning.

A foreigner from a far away land arrived to Piltover a week or so after the two murders happened -or that's when people noticed her-, introducing herself as someone that was following the trail of this C.C., and offering herself to help the most competent person in Piltover, or, more correctly, the only person who could be enough interested to try and find who did this. Because they were definitely a slippery one.

The first time I took the MBTI test, I was an INFJ / ‘the advocate’.  Most recently I got INFP-T / ‘the mediator’. Which is a great fit, honestly.  Particularly the observations around being a daydreamer, empathetic, at peace in nature.  Also, less flatteringly, being an unfocused people-pleaser. 🤪

The knock at Detective Kiraman’s door is soft, light, almost as if it did not want to be heard. Truth be told, Mel was still unsure about her own presence, or the validity of her motivations. Before being banished by her family, all she had known had been death, and war, and Kino’s meager attempts at suggesting there could be more to statecraft than what their mother was teaching them. As much as these attempts stuck with Mel, theory was often far easier than practice. Piltover was meant to be different—better, a gleaming beacon of the progress that could happen in a place of diplomacy, not burdened by war and violence, where everything was possible. If the events of the past month were anything to go by, this had failed. Mel had failed. 

Perhaps she could be a part of the solution. That was the intent, at least, though whether she did this for the good of the city or for her own selfish attempts at proving her mother wrong was still unclear—even to Mel. Either way, she knew what Ambessa would do in the current situation—what some of what was left of the council wanted. Retaliation was handed to them on a silver platter, and enough had happened to make it seem like the sorely needed last recourse. Mel would not say this aloud (not yet, anyway), but this prospect terrified her more than her own failure. She knocked a bit louder, ignoring the discomfort in her shoulder blades (it would pass in time, a last reminder of the attempted collapse of their whole political system).

I am operatically trained and have actually traveled Europe with a choir group - it was one of the coolest experiences of my life, and I even had a solo! Song and music have always been such a large part of my life and it effects me super deeply - feel free to send any and all music to me!

When I was younger I was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome that left me paralysed from the waist down for about 6 months, I was 3 years old and I somehow attracted it with mono? We're not entirely sure, but I made a full recovery! I remember some of the moments, but not a lot of them, and I'm extremely grateful for my doctor.

She handed him a small bracelet that seemed to have been braided from wool, with a hollow water crystal in the center.

“It’s a friendship bracelet!” she smiled. “I made it myself! I wasn’t sure which of the Twelve is your guardian, but I just kinda assumed that since you’re Sharlayan and Sharlayans are all about Thaliak, you’d best be suited for something with water...? But I can always go find another crystal for you if you’d like!”

Runme wasn’t sure she’d ever get used to the less-than-savory comments some Eorzeans seemed to think were perfectly okay to voice. Doma’s folk could be frank, but usually had some sense of restraint and decorum. There were rules and ways to do things, including speech, and it was those rules and her training as a shinobi that let her keep her head instead of biting back. She knew the words to be untrue, even if they still stung.

“Don’t listen to them.”

The Raen almost let out a sigh of relief when she saw restraint win out over his not-quite-anger. The sort of people who would say such things were not worth his time, were not worth her time, and she was glad to let him pull her away from the marketplace, filing their faces away for later remembrance. Perhaps they might find a pot of mud tipping over them in the near future, in a place they weren’t expecting.

“I think we are far enough off.” She let her pale gaze flicker back in the direction of the markets a second before huffing. “I agree with your analysis of them being ‘feeble-minded’. To say such things, especially in public! The only time you might hear something like that from a Doman is if they are drunk or ill of mind.”
