also, karkata being a different colour is obviously to differentiate it from the hostile mobs and make it stand out, but i personally like to think that this is the original colour palette for all the ruin mechs in the game. like, all the "wild" ones have been rusting for centuries out in the elements, meanwhile karkata was kept and taken care of
