so i had several ideas for each character with different approaches in mind. first, i discarded all masked characters even if they fit, then:

. reese as abomination - the easiest and self-explanatory (wayne even calls him this!), beast theme and sad emo boy look, perfect match. also chains, stp reference?? (/silly)

. stella as houndmaster - too hard to resist this pick, even though i think stella would've enjoyed either GR or even hellion given her personality.

. kaneeka as arbalest - the hardest pick, i was thinking 'what kind of character would kaneeka consider?' and the answer was 'reliable', as she is skeptical and cautious in most cases, but also tough. plag doc was also a fine choice but like. mask. eh.

. tabitha as man-at-arms - she's a leader after all, ruling the mines requires being a tactician and also caring for her people. tbh man-at-arms is playstyle-wise my fav hero in dd, the unusual kind of support unit

bonus:

. for avery i though of jester or bounty hunter. quirky yet straightforward kinda heroes with questionable morale. sadly dd doesn't have any plant-related heroes :(

. ms kelly is obviously vestal killer healer

. oscar is either occultist (FORBIDDEN LIBRARY KNOWLEDGE YAY!) or antiquarian

. wayne as leper. the powerful one that kinda rots
