Arashnul to Mi’Nerraa nondescript, possible alternate future

The air was thick with smoke and the scent of burning fuel, the ozony tinge of fried psy-matrice circuits mixed in it. The pitch dark night and the shadowy torsos of massive trees hugged them, the only illumination was the fire from the crashed transportation vessel behind them. Ferns brushed past them with a low rustle, pointy barks tearing at their clothes, scratching their bare arms. The taller pale woman half dragged her more fragile, freckled companion, running as fast as they could. They didn’t expect this. Someone shot their ship. Someone wanted them dead.

People were shouting behind them, thin lines of coloured targeting lasers dancing past them in the night mist. A tree exploded next to them. The shockwave knocked them several meters forward, showering tree splinters around them. Mi'Nerra was already dazed, her insides turning, twisting, torturing her. The blow blurred her vision and dulled her senses except for the sudden wave of nausea and jolt of pain squeezing her sides. She wanted to curl up in a ball of pain, and lie there agonizing in the damp under foilage. But Arashnul’s firm hand dragged her up. She nudged her forward.

- Everything will be okay - muttered Arashnul breathily to the doubled over woman, an arm wrapped around her back to support her. Of course she is going to be okay. But she wasn’t supposed to be in the thick under growth of the jungle. Especially not now.- The void it is going to be. I’m going to be late from my appointment - she sputtered angirly, panting. Arashnul cursed and looked at her panicked and anxious.- Don’t you fucking dare!…- Dare what? You know well that it doesn’t depend on me!…

Telrisis to TyrrinAiur was a horrible place. The rain had been pouring down for days now. Tyrrin couldn’t imagine how Protoss could live in such a horribly humid place. She parked her ship just a little bit beyond the small town’s borders, near the edge of a small clearing. The way to her ship was now kneaded up, a slippery, trechearous mess. Obviously, some idiot sheperd had lead through their pitiful animals here. It forced her to carefully bee-line around the bigger mounds on the road’s edge, unless she wanted mud stuck in every inch of her armour up to her knee.

One such attempt at trying to walk around a bigger mound saw her legs run out from under her. She stepped too close to the edge, she put her weight too soon on her feet. Ungracefully flailing around she fell and rolled face first into the meter deep trench with a loud splosh. She wanted to scream, kick or cut up something into tiny little pieces. Whatever… She will stay here for a few minutes, her armour keeps her warm and dry anyway, there is no need to get up and slash at the rain like an idiot.

She will just… lay face first in the mud… focusing on the readings of her visor… until she calms down. She let out an aggravated groan. That was when she was hoisted up from the mud and propped up on her two feet on the road.- Everything will be okay - came a cheery, warm, familiar metallic voice. Telrisis. A gentle push, soft metallic scraping and the readings of her helmet told her that the robot was wiping off the mud off her visor.
