Although, HDPE pipes are of high quality and long lasting, for them to give you ideal results you should ensure that you install them properly. Here are tips on how to install them:
Field Connections
Field connections aid in completing pipe runs for short pipes. They are also of great importance when pipes are damaged during construction.
When undertaking field connections and repairs, you should ensure that the repairs are performed with couplers that are compatible with the overall system. If the installation requires watertight joints you should seal vent holes with oakum or any other recommended adhesive.
To ensure that the pipe is water tight you should remove the damaged pipe and repair it. There are many repair methods that you can use with the main ones being: bell/bell couplers, concrete collars and internal seals.
Curvilinear Installations
One of the main advantages of HDPE pipes is that you can lay them on a curved alignment. Here you need to install a joint to create a deflection. There are many types of joints that you can use with the most common ones being: split band, bell and spigot joints.

There are many types of fittings that you can use on HDPE pipes. The most common ones are: bends, tees, reducers, wyes, and end caps. The cool thing is that the fittings come with joints that are compatible with HDPE pipes.
