Apsara Jewelry Designs was created to remind women of their own beauty and connection to everything. The pieces are inspired by the magnificence of the world that we live in and the incredible beauty, teaching and sacredness in everything. The vision for Apsara Jewelry Designs was born on a trip to Cambodia with my family. Adorning the temple walls are the beautiful Apsara dancers. These are women that have both a Divine and an Earthly nature. They seemed to me to embody the feminine in that they are strong, nurturing and sensual. As I looked at their jewelry which had been carved into the stone, I felt a pull to create jewelry for women in order to remind us of these attributes that we embody…to remind us of who we are. Making jewelry helped me remember the soft, creative side…helped me remember me. I pray that the women who could use a touchstone for this remembrance find this site and enjoy this jewelry. Making jewelry feels like a service to myself and to other women. In some of the descriptions I make reference to stone attributes. These are not “New Age” notions. They are Ancient Wisdom and were used for centuries as helpers and reminders. This wisdom in the stones, metals and other natural elements has been forgotten by many people but that does not make it any less relevant in our lives today. This Wisdom is still here, still acting. Bringing it into our awareness has advantages though as all awareness does. Pet adornment is included as I am well aware of the help, teaching, nurturing and Love that animals bring into our lives as my "day job" is a veterinarian. I see the miracle of pet companionship every day and am so grateful to them. Apsara Jewelry Designs is a way for me to combine my love of nature and my love of jewelry so I created pieces that combine both elements. I hope that this aesthetically beautiful jewelry combined with a strong connection to the natural world will evoke an awareness of unity and plant the seed of wholeness and of help coming from many unseen places. I hope that this jewelry will make you feel magnificent, shine and help you remember that we embody the beautiful feminine.
