It's an anatomical diagram of Adachi's eyeball, but there might be more than what meets the eye...
...which I'll be pointing out here, since I had to compress the image to fit on Tumblr!
-> The Persona 4 protagonist is hiding in Adachi's optic disc, also known as the eye's blind spot.
(Spoilers for Persona 4 below this point)
-> Similarly, that's actually Ameno-Sagiri hiding in plain sight. He hijacked Adachi's eyeball! What a troublemaker!
-> The vitreous humor has somehow turned into virtuous fog...
I got anatomical inspiration for this piece from the incredible back cover of the 2012 δΈ»θΆ³ εδΊΊθͺ γMORBUSADMORTEMγ (εΊηη€Ύ: WTH). (By the way, I am still searching for a copy of this doujin. Please let me know if you'd be willing to part with yours.)
The theme of the zine was "Layers", so I immediately thought of vision processing, before having a "heywaitaminute" realization about the optic disc and its ability to hide the protagonist. That's when I knew I had to go for it.
I'm not used to cross-hatching, but Alphonse Demarle's works were very helpful references. Anatomy diagrams are pretty fun. I learned a lot!

This is an earlier WIP version, back when I was still trying to decide if I should commit to coloring or not. The strawberry rendering on the final product isn't that visible, but you can see it clearly here... I also like this version.
Since the theme of the zine was "Layers", I decided to focus attention on the cake instead (or rather, the fact that Adachi might get mistaken for a strawberry if he doesn't get moving - disregarding the fact that his torso is red-string tied to the Persona 4 protagonist's pinky (ΰΉ>Ψβ’ΜΰΉ)).
