Good fortune smiled upon him, raining as tiny silver drops of rain that chimed a telltale symphony over the rippling weapon of a body assaulting him.  Even in his perpetual darkness, the staccato of the rain painted a glimmering static image in motion of the bloodied, grinning beauty with whom he was locked in mortal combat.  He could smell the blood leaking from his nose, taste the whimsy of his cologne lingering like a trail in the air, and hear the whistle of his fatal fists and hidden blades as they flashed and bit at nothing.  He could not see the snow white hair, the wily violet eyes, or the devilishly handsome smirk, but he had no need to see them to know they were there.  He had no need to know anything other than the thrum of his heart, the thrill in his soul, and elegant dance of death that only they dared to waltz, and only they could ever walk out of to take their final bows together.
