It's something Ree's helping me with. I was going off on a friend of hers  online over something we disagree on, and I was being completely unfair and barrelling over her and being snide and condescending, even though she was doing her best to be nice and patient and keep things civil. Basically, I had a bunch of leftover vitriol from a previous argument with someone who used some similar wording, and I took it out on her.

Ree finally had enough and was like, "You know, if I said the exact same thing to you, you would have stopped and asked me what I meant, and then explained your position, and if we still disagreed, you'd have been nice about it. And you'd have been that way with Akire or Jasmin, too, because you've met them in person. Why can't you treat people you haven't met face to face the same way?"

And she's right. And it shouldn't take someone else pointing out to me that I'm being an asshole for me to realize it.

Have you tried Zyrtec-D (or an equivalent generic brand)? It works wonders, I swear. I have horrible seasonal/pet allergies and I have a cat and a dog and after a while it built up in my system and I was delivered from said ailment.

Thanks. Yeah, fexophenedrine got me through staying the night at Maria's old place (seems I'm not overly allergic to Remy) and around other cats I didn't have too strong of a reaction to, but it's not enough to combat a strong anaphylactic reaction.

My pharmacist, my doctor, and I worked out a combo of drugs (both prescription and OTC) to get me through when I have to be around things that affect me severely (I told them I might HAVE to be around things that send me into anaphylaxis, and might not be near a hospital), but even the combination of all five meds at once isn't a viable long-term solution. The drugs help me breathe more comfortably and keep me from having to go to the ER for now, but that's about it--they were never intended to be a long-term solution. One of the meds (a steroid inhaler) even causes increased susceptibility to respiratory infections, and you can imagine stacking that on top of a barely-held-at-bay anaphylactic reaction.

I can boost some of the meds short term if I'm willing to deal with the side-effects and potential health risks, but the key phrase there is "short term."
