Just watched Avatar Aang. 0 stars. One of the worst to ever do it.
What the fuck is this garbage? Talk about character assassination.
We have Aang - who no longer has joy and whimsy (but hey he's dealing with being a survivor of a genocide so I guess I can forgive it). Greatest air bender of our generation... falls off a mountain and has to earth bend hand holds instead.... (okay maybe the air is thinner at the top of the mountain? Oh Tagah can airbend just fine up here nevermind.)
We have Katara - who literally says at one point "Oh no I ran out of water" (bitch what? since when?) Aang we need to turn around, I know you have a chance to give airbending back to the world but it's too dangerous (she wouldn't say that and yet she did)
We have Sokka - "he taught me to be brave" (no he taught you to use ingenuity where bending failed you) whose sole purpose in the movie is to crack wise cracks that are distinctly not funny.
We have Toph - "I'm the greatest earth bender in the world (the movie makes a point to say this 2-3 times)" who gets beat by a fresh faced baby Airbender with a metal fucking glaive. Also all she's gonna do is thirst after Tagah.
Zuko was there.... for some reason (I will say zuko saying yeah he's hot to Toph was the only time I chuckled in the entire movie so there's that)
Momo... was also there.... sometimes.....
And APPA IS A TRIFLING ASS HOE. HE FUCKING FLIES OFF WITH THE VILLAIN AND ITS LITERALLY NEVER ADDRESSED. "Oh the villain kidnapped him" (the last time he was kidnapped it took 37 men and a ton of ropes. this time he's literally flying the villain out of a deadly storm. And no one says anything about it. and then at the end he flies off to get hot air bison bitches)
Also what do you mean the entire Gaang, masters of their respective elements and non-bending, get their asses kicked by freshly empowered air benders? Didn't we see in korra that it's actually kinda difficult to air bend and takes ages to master and yet somehow they are suddenly giving masters a tough time?
I guess you could say the animation is pretty except I think the show with its limited budget looks better. The movie gives all the characters same face syndrome and the fighting sequences would be interesting to look at IF there werent marvel action cuts ever .5 seconds. And the dialog is horrible.
