Because all the ones I find don’t have any place for listing what you already have - they have options to add things to a shopping list, but nothing to be like “hey you have this listed as something in your pantry, so you don’t need to buy more.”

So I wanna code a recipe manager that would:

Let you create and edit recipes (obviously)

Allow you to list or mark optional/substitution ingredients

Automatic serving size adjustments

Have a “pantry/fridge” option that would allow you to list what you already have (e.g. spices, bulk ingredients, etc...)

if you set an amount that you have, when you create a dish, you can mark it as “made” and it’ll automatically subtract the recipe’s listed amounts from the amounts in your pantry list

recipes have a “recommended serving size” option calculated based on amounts listed

options to sort recipes based on how many ingredients you already have

options to group recipes together based on ingredients they share (so you can maximize the variety of dishes by buying ingredients in bulk)

Expiration Minder - options to input date bought and/or listed expiration dates for ingredients, with reminders when things are about to go bad (so you can use them up before they do)

“Leftovers” option so you can score how well the leftovers hold up

optional reminders of how long leftovers have been sitting in your fridge based on when you marked a recipe as “made”

Shopping List options

lists created based on recipes you want to make

lists created based on basic ingredients you’re running low on

options for showing deals/coupons/best buys based on your location and/or selected stores (maybe create a separate “stock up” shopping list for things that keep well when they’re on sale)

Nutrition minders - optional notifs to keep track of the meals you’ve been marking as “made” and the basic nutritional info (e.g. protein, iron, fiber, etc...) so that you’re reminded to eat something with particular nutrients if it seems like you’re avoiding it (with options to adjust to personal diets).

Tags for recipes to make them easy to sort/find based on whatever parameters that work for you

including suggested tags (e.g. “protein-heavy,” “vegetarian,” “quick meal,” etc... based on the recipe itself)

App and web sync support, so you’re not trying to add a bunch of recipes and options on a touchscreen all the time
