Hey, if I may ask, what's your relationship with Apollo like? If you don't mind answering- I really love hearing about people's relationships with deities and I've been asking a ton of people about it, it's so nice to hear about them! :)
Oh boy, anon, you just opened up a can of blubbering emotions. For my followers who do not want to read this, I’ll put a read more line, because it is terribly long.
My relationship with Apollo is quite... intimate and personal. I’ve only recently started to talk about Him and write about Him more on Tumblr now that I’m getting comfortable with my personal posts.
I became His devotee nearly a year ago (June 12th, 2014, to be exact), and I’m going to tell you right now- it wasn’t all sunshine (pun not intended).
He actually showed up in my life about two-threeish years ago, He was in a dream of mine and was trying to tell me something urgent and important, at that time I was going through a religious crisis.
When I started to meditate, He would show up and we would just talk about casual things, I’d ask Him about His favorite type of music (He claimed to have liked Jazz at the time), it was just small things like that.
Around the fourth time He’d show up, He made it an intimate thing. I really, really, don’t consider myself to be a Godspouse at all because of it (and no, I am not talking about sex for those who are reading). When I say intimate, I mean it was just something really personal that He did, I’ve never talked about it too much though.
One thing you should know; He’s helped me a lot. I mean, a lot. I try to give offerings and do devotions, and I think about Him a lot, but He’s given me a ton to go on and ways to get through life.
I see Apollo a lot like a teacher figure- teachers are people in my life that I probably trust the most, and Apollo knew that in order for me to get comfortable around Him, He’d have to take on that role.
He’s considered my patron, not in the Neowiccan term, but in the Hellenic term. I’m going for music (I am going to be a music director) and so He’s been very encouraging about it.
Whenever I would ask Him about any projects He wanted me to work on, they were about myself. He taught me inner strength, self confidence, and I’m very grateful for all of that.
This is turning into a terribly long post, so to put it in more short;
He is my sunshine on my stormy days, He is my love; my light, He is the bright star that shows me the way at night, He’s the one I would follow into the dark because He is so radiant. I trust Him with everything; I nearly pray everyday just to say thanks; when I think of Him, I see home.
