There is a major U.S. hyperscale data center developer/operator called Stream Data Centers (based in Dallas). In August 2025, Apollo (Apollo Global Management) announced Apollo-managed funds agreed to acquire a majority stake in Stream Data Centers from Stream Realty Partners. Apollo said the backing is meant to accelerate a multi-gigawatt development pipeline and enable “billions” of dollars of investment into digital infrastructure. “JOBS” ARE OFTEN A MIRAGE WITH HYPERSCALE DATA CENTERS

WATER AND POWER QUESTIONS DON’T DISAPPEAR BECAUSE SOMEONE SAYS “CLOSED LOOP”

County officials told WPDE the project would use closed-loop cooling and provided an estimated average daily water figure. Even if closed-loop reduces continuous withdrawal, the community still needs independent verification (engineering, emergency scenarios, expansions, heat waves, and what happens when the “next phase” grows). That scale is exactly why locals should demand tight guardrails: enforceable community benefits, infrastructure commitments, environmental monitoring, and public accountability. A simple public org chart: Eagle Myra, LLC → parent company → controlling investors, with names and addresses.

Clear “no surprises” limits: caps on water withdrawal, power draw, expansion phases, and generator emissions—written into enforceable permits and agreements.

BOTTOM LINE

If this was truly a slam-dunk for Marion, it wouldn’t need code names, NDAs, mystery LLCs, and “we’ll tell you more later.” The public deserves clarity now—because once the incentives are locked and the site work starts, leverage disappears.
