Please please please tell me you're continuing your Pern AU! I've never actually heard of another DoP fan and that and TW together is awesome :D pretty please???
Oh wow somebody besides me and the friends I corralled into listening to me summarize the worldbuilding of Pern actually cares!
I do know exactly how the whole event boils out and ends! I’ve even got the next part, like, 2/3 written in my drafts box. We can call this universe another victim of ‘the C effect’: in which I get a cool idea, sit down to write it out quickfire just to share it, and then suddenly discover that it’s going to be thousands upon thousands of words long. And then get distracted by something else.
Still, Pern was kind of a formative experience for me when I was eleven or twelve (first online fandom! God, I was bitty), and I love the universe kind of a lot—it’s exactly the right mix of emotional affection/nostalgia, and sheer wtf is going on with these cultural practices and how was I not appalled when I was 13? horror to make me want to write about it. I do want to get this finished up, maybe polished some and put together out on AO3. I make absolutely no promises about ‘when’. If I die first, somebody will have chatlogs for you or something. (I get distracted…kind of a lot.)
