The year is over, and it is time to share with the internet what I achieved this year. Because literally all I did was read fanfiction.

I read 8 million MORE words than last year, despite reading 156 less fics.

What the fuck happened to me in September?

I read WAY more Hobbit fanfics than any other fandom.

However, my word count for Harry Potter is much higher somehow?!

Bagginshield is still my number one though. My best friend convinced me to read a bunch of her favourite Dramione fanfics. Not something I would usually read but the things we do for our loved ones.

Smut wins.

My most read authors include a bunch of amazing @rutobuka2 comics and my friends @mithrilhearts and @fantasyinallforms!!! Also the amazing @alienfuckeronmain because I’m MEGA obsessed with the house of durin series. I'm not sure if the other one has tumblr so no tag for them.

29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?

Favorite one sentence has to be this one from early bloomer, my kinn has hanahaki wip:

He can’t afford tears, but he can clear his throat and create a garden.

Favorite passage might be this banter between kimchay in accommodations. i love them just being in love, and chay being silly

Chay knew his boyfriend wouldn’t stop halfway through a medical assessment, so he just pouted and made friends with the wall furthest from the showerhead, eyes focused on the misleading cooled off water under his feet. “What’s wrong? What’s wrong, he asks. How have you not gotten third degree burns yet?”

Kim blinked. He was ridiculously attractive despite, or maybe because of it, strands of wet hair plastered to his face. “Huh?”

He gestured. “The water. It’s too hot.” He thrust his hands into Kim’s face. “Look at how red they are!”

“Hm.” Kim held his hands, turning them this way and that. “Poor dear. I’m sorry.” He pressed a deep kiss to each and every knuckle. 

Pouting again because he wasn’t supposed to be the one blushing, Chay poked his chest. “I came in here for cuddles, not curdles.”

Kim tilted his head. “....was that supposed to make sense or…”

“Like overheated milk!”

“Oh.” Kim’s lips twitched. 

“Kim!” Chay whined. “No laughing. I am in need of medical attention and you're laughing.”

“You’re in need of attention alright,” Kim snarked before turning around and reaching for the faucets. Chay expected him to turn it down, but instead he turned it off completely. 

And then, shampoo foam still on the top of his head, he put his hands on Chay's waist and maneuvered them until Chay was under the rainfall showerhead. “Here, fussy boy.” 

2. How many works did you publish this year?

10. What work was the quickest to write?

I pinch hitted and wrote You know it breaks my heart in half, in half for the @daredevilexchange, and was expecting it to take a good few weeks, but had a morning of being possessed by the writing gods and created a fic I was really happy with in a few days!

29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?

I read questions like this and immediately forget everything I've ever created. A passage that still gives me chills is:

“We got you. You’re going to be okay Matty.”

He wasn’t used to hearing Foggy lie.

5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected? - Ooh I think that one's a tie between my Ava/Deborah fic "Yield" and my Ava/Weed fic "Pete Wentz Made Them Do It." I had such a good time writing Yield, and it's very much my jam, but it's an ambiguous ending one-shot where Ava and Deborah are not actually together at the end, which I know isn't for everyone. But it ended up clicking with a lot of folks, and that's always amazing to see! Then with the Ava/Weed one, they're (obviously) not the main pairing for the show, but there were a surprising number of people willing to give it a shot! And outside of a few annoying folks on Twitter upset about the mere idea of the fic/any fic with Ava/not!Deborah, the feedback was really lovely! [tbc people can feel how they feel and ship/not ship whatever they want, but they gotta know the authors can see it too!]

9. Favorite pairing you wrote for this year? - Aww it's gotta be Ava/Deborah haha - wrote too much for them for it not to be! But they also just have a lot of depth to play with, and I love a ship that lets me sit with the messiness of two imperfect people who manage to be kind of perfect for each other

I know this is very random, but I love your 2023 AO3 Wrapped graphic and was wondering if you were going to do one for 2024 because my friends and I love to play these sort of tag games (and one of my friends specifically asked me to tag her in any ao3 wrapped tags/games) and I would love to be able to share this with her and with my mutuals (with credit to you, obviously).

No pressure to answer, of course, I was just curious
