have you ever met someone whose honesty just. blows you away. like, youre jealous of it. cos its so real and unexpected and simple & real & maybe it sticks with you for the rest of the year. and maybe you think you want to talk to them over & over just to watch it shine. and maybe it makes you think how youd respond if youd gone into that conversation aware this person was going to just. lay themselves open. yknow? do you know? cos itd be nice to know other ppl know what that feels like.

The house is ugly. It's got bright Ford Green paint on all the windows outside. It doesn't have a bathroom sink. There isn't any flooring in the laundry room. The sink is too small to wash dishes. The tile in the kitchen is fucked up. The cabinets are busted and broken and dented.

It's an ugly ass house. I'm grateful for it, but it is an ugly ass house. It's not like we have a wealth of money to fix it either. We can barely pay bills. The electric gets turned off regularly because we simply can't pay it. You ever make dinner for weeks straight on a camp stove outside with a flashlight because it's too dark to see and you don't have power? Probably not.

We're poor, as most Americans are. You don't know me, and I'm not your enemy.
