hc that on the rare occasions levi gets sick, either holden/kiaan will 'tuck him in'. and part of him realizes the ridiculousness of this role reversal but he feels too shitty to object and so yeah he ends up being snuggly tucked in with two blankets and receives a headpat before being left to get some much needed rest. (also hc that his kids do something similar even if he's been overworking himself by being on call for close to 24hrs and comes home utterly exhausted)
Levi being tucked in by teeny five and three year olds… stop……the most precious thing about kids is that they don’t realize when adults do things to/for them Because they’re little and they just think that’s how the universe is yk. Their dad tucks them in every day and kisses their foreheads and gives them cold rags when they’re sick or tired or hungry so obviously that is what they must do for him too 🙂↕️ see also: Kiaan, being younger, really takes this reciprocity to heart, staying by Levi’s side to use his tiny hands to pat his back while he sleeps.
The idea of Levi’s laying on the couch with a blanket on him, getting some shut eye for the first time all weekend, and having his tiny daughter march up to him with a peeled orange on a napkin is killing me. Just imagine him blinking, wondering if it’s the lack of sleep playing tricks on his senses when he smells citrus, and slowly opening his eyes to see Holden holding an orange very close to his nose because, “Daddy has to eat something. You missed dinner.”
He can tell she peeled it herself—she’s gotten very good at it, doesn’t even need him to start the peel for her anymore—and all he can do is smile. He sits up, groggy and slow, and Holden giggles at the way the blanket forms a cape around him, and Levi happily splits the orange in two to offer her half. He can tell she’s hesitant in accepting it, wanting him to have the whole thing, so Levi starts small, eating a wedge first, and then offering her one after. She accepts after he eats one, and he tries to start a pattern, having another wedge, and then offering her one, but she shakes her head this time. Levi tilts his head a bit, and Holden only pouts, crawling into his lap with as much grace as a toddler could have, and stealing the split orange back. Now, she has a cheeky smile on her face as she splits off another wedge and holds it up to her dad’s mouth. Levi smiles wide this time, genuinely bemused and endeared as Holden explains that he always feeds her when she’s tired so it’s her turn to feed him :(((
