For the year wrap-up meme! 😳 and 💀
Last one! Thanks for asking 💖
😳 a piece that turned out better than i was expecting
I guess this six page comic qualifies :) For one thing I don't make comics that often anymore and (as usual) in the end there's probably more of it than I planned. I think I succeeded in making the style look consistent and conveying what I had in mind when I thought of it - which is a result that generally exceeds my expectations hahah

💀 a piece that was not worth all the pain and suffering
This AtLA Inktober drawing definitely. I started sketching two (or maybe even three) weeks before because I was nervous about the lizards and inking was more effort than expected too. And then it didn't even do well when I posted it so yeah. I feel a little sour about this one.

@anxiouscervidae “Holy SHIT buddy you’re cranking out some crazy fic there Where is it and what’s it about”
Cerv....
I have some good news and some bad news... (depending)
Right now I’m working on the third installment of my Windmill series, and I mentioned the word count because the first two installments are each twice as long as this one. I’m going to start posting it on 10/10, but the first two are up on Ao3 or ffnet if you fancy.
I actually re-wrote the first one this year to make it much easier to read (the chapters were like 10k each before) so it’s never been a better time to pick it up imo. But. I understand if it’s a little overwhelming lmao
Trick or treat :3
Clayton-le-Woods? I barely know 'on!
it's like someone randomly @'ing me but it's the Site Itself

Bonus question: do you have a preference for writing fanworks or original works?
Cerv you have no idea how whiny this question makes me feel in my brain because
Like most of the time, I like doing fanworks a lot better. But I think that's because it's what I have the most practice in, and learning new stuff is hard. And feeling like you suck is hard.
But at the same time, I get really itchy a lot when I'm writing fic. I feel like I have to justify everything I do, even though I know you don't have to really. But the further you take it from the source, the less people care, and that's just facts. It makes sense. Then there's that whole big issue with like - it sucks that capitalism means we can't prioritize anything we can't sell, on account of needing money to live and all that. So it's hard to spend time on it when I'm always thinking I could be working toward something else.
On the other hand, I'd been writing little originals years before the first time I did a fic, so it really is where my heart is. It's overwhelmingly exciting to think of doing that. It's just. Being in a period of suckage for who knows how long until I get better at it.
But it makes me sad not having the same kind of community feeling, knowing that even if there is a community around my ofic someday (?????) it won't really be the same, and it won't be the kind of thing I can participate in the same way.
So I'll probably always do both, even if I have to put one on the back burner for long stretches of time.

Those bitches were hiding tortellinis from me?!?!?!!?!
Yesss! It was a short run from like the time I was 7 until I was 10 and then they vanished. They were so good! If they can make chicken ravioli sell then where the hell are my tortellinis ConAgra. WHERE ARE THEY.
