'i can teach you to shave like a big boy'
upon re-watch i- *muffled screams*
Today I cried over TUA for the first time in ages because I remembered the part of S3 where Five asks Lila to give him the room after he sees his older self die.
He's so dignified in that scene, voice not quite breaking. There's so much mutual respect between them in that emotional moment.
So why did the writers have to fuck up what was a perfectly understated, poetic and platonic relationship between them?
Why? Why? I feel about S4 like the pope probably feels about the book of Mormon. False prophets! Heresy!!
Free fic idea for someone crueller than me:
Five and Lila in the subway from Lila's POV. The story is tagged as Mature, Chose not to use archive warnings, M/F, Five/Lila, Romance, and Canon divergent ending.
Lila's noticing that Five's started to open up to her, and she's happy about that fact. She notices him starting to look at her differently, initiating physical touch and generally being softer. She even starts to encourage it, subtly creating situations designed to increase the closeness.
She starts to notice his looks a little more, particularly the lines and hollows of his neck. She's kind of fascinated by it, in fact.
Build up the romance and tension for as long as possible, perhaps for multiple chapters. Maybe they have a heart to heart about how hard it was killing for the Commission; maybe she gets ill and he nurses her back to health, starving himself to give her better food rations; maybe we see them play chess, and the sexual tension simply ripples off Five as Lila manages to outplay him.
Then Five finds a razor, and Lila offers to help him shave. Five is pretty intrigued by this prospect, maybe he's even a little hot and bothered by it: blown pupils as he feels the metal across his cheek, heart beating faster at the feeling of her fingers on his neck...
And then she slits his throat.
Because It doesn't matter that she has her parents in the new timeline: they're strangers, and Five stole a chihood filled with love and affection from her.
She feels nothing but satisfaction as she watches him gurgling himself to death, his pretty but oh-so-fragile throat gaping and belching blood.
The look of hurt and betrayal in his eyes seems only right, given the magnitude of hurt he caused her.
She swore she'd kill him, and now she has. Revenge is a dish best served cold, and killing is always personal.
She'll get back to Diego and her kids alone. Five was probably just slowing her down.
Hi! Can I just say that I just read No Hard Feelings part 1 and YOUR LILA?! THAT'S WHO WE WANTED IN S4! "Does it look like a mouse?" I read that taking a drink and about choked because I started laughing. Love Santi and Five, I wanted to see him being an actual Uncle so badly. Fantastic work. Hope to see more of your works in the future!
Thank you. Lila was such a great character in seasons 1-3 and I have a blast writing her.
Her and Five as frenemies thrown together by circumstances and familial ties and then quietly, grudgingly loving each other as family members is just a better dynamic.
The fact we never saw Uncle Five sucks so badly, and I wanted to explore Five and Lila's relationship through Santi. They communicate mutual trust and care for each other through him: Five in the fact that he showers him with love, and Lila in the fact that she allows and encourages it.
This is the man who killed her parents, yet she's not only forgiven him enough to trust him with her baby. Not only that, she understands that Five needs Santi more than Santi needs him and she's happy that her son can bring him joy.
I go into this dynamic a little more in Alias Number Five (Part 1 of The Neuroses of Five Hargreeves), and I genuinely think I did a better, more interesting job of Five and Lila's relationship than the writers did. And that's fucking tragic because I'm a depressed, anxiety-plagued British housewife who should be easily outdone by professional writers.
Side note, I really hated how S4 dumbed her down.
She accidentally got pregnant with twins because she didn't think you could get pregnant while breastfeeding??? Like, what?
She's chaotic and naive in some ways, but I feel like the writers decided that Five's 'sentient STD' line wasn't just him being an asshole and she and Diego are actually both thick as shit.

How do you block a tag? I wanna block the whole section of fivela/five x lila
They keep popping up on my search and I don’t want to exert more energy or emotional reaction seeing it.
