It's unfortunate that someone close to your friend isn't supportive of being objectum :(
But if your friend is looking for objectum positivity, they need not look further than this hellsite! Tumblr has by far the largest objectum community I've seen. The objectum tag is pretty active, so that's a good place to start if your friend just wants to find other objectum people.
