CSLB Artist Spotlight: ansoliq
Today’s featured Captain Swan Little Bang artist is @ansoliq!
How long have you been making artwork for the OUAT fandom? What sorts of artwork (original or fan art) did you make before joining the OUAT fandom?
I joined the OUAT fandom in August 2016 and I've been making fan art ever since! Before that I made fan art for other fandoms and some original art, and I still do.
What sort of artwork do you like to make, either in terms of style, medium, or subject matter?
Digital art is absolutely my favourite! I've been drawing digitally since I first got my tablet when I was 12 (two years ago). To me, digital art seems more free and open-ended compared to traditional art because of how you can edit and add effects any way you want. And of course, the existence of ctrl+z!
Whose your favorite subject for artwork: Emma or Killian? Or do you prefer both together? Why?
Both! I love drawing them both, I wouldn't ever be able to choose one.
If this is your first time participating in a Big or Little Bang, what made you decide to sign up? What are you looking forward to?
One of the mods sent me a message asking me if I wanted to participate. I look forward to seeing everyone's wonderful fics and artworks, making more friends in the fandom, and hopefully some exposure for me as an artist.
Featured Artwork: The Final Battle
For the pieces I picked, I'm generally happy with the colours and the style. Also, for the portraits, I didn't use any photo references, so I'm proud of how I drew Emma and Killian from memory. The full body drawing of Emma was a fun experiment with lighting. The chibi Captain Swan drawing was another experiment on style and I think it turned out nicely!
