In the midst of writing, recording, working and just being extremely busy personally, I've decided that everyone should be able to own this music without having to pay a dime if they don't want to. Because that's what it's all about: The Music. I want you to enjoy what I write without the hassle of an empty bank account. I'm about halfway through recording this small EP we had planned a couple of monthz before. The last thing left are the vocals and brass, but that's a totally different subject! I'm here to discuss some future shows we've got lined up! As we prepare for the inevitable warm weather and the inevitable flurry of shows we have lined up (soon), there are a few things I have to address before we can officially get the ball rolling. Another Astronaut is currently seeking a new drummer. Someone to join our family perfectly. I'm looking for someone who is professional, a wonderful musician, punctual musician, preferably with not only spare time but money as well (for usual expenses, gas, practice studios etc. etc.) and not only that...but someone trustworthy and caring. Someone humble and kind. Someone who can join us, not just as a drummer but as a friend.  This is our missing piece. So if there is anyone out there who fits these requirements, who loves blink-182, who loves NOFX, Lagwagon, and 90s punk in general....please let me know! We need your help! 

As we were writing and recording "Muff Cabbage!" last year there were a LOT of songs that didn't make the cut. A lot of B-Sides were supposed to be included on the album, but we just didn't have the time to finish them. There were also a lot of rough recordings of songs we had released a couple of years earlier on a CD we called "Surfacing", which was conveniently wrapped in paper sleeves and marked with markers. A true DIY CD. So for the last two months we had been finishing up those extra songs and re-recording some of those Surfacing songs for a small EP to follow up and officially finish Muff Cabbage entitled "A-Holes and B-Sides". I'm about halfway through re-writing the drum parts now and hopefully by next week I can officially start putting in some damage. The EP will have two completely new songs that aren't B-sides as a bonus. Spoilers to the MAX. Here's to hoping everything comes out amazing! Cheers!

Another Astronaut now has a Tumblr! Hurrah! I've decided to try my best to keep with a steady flow of updates from now on and I've decided that it would be easier, and better, to just do that here. So welcome to the first post.  A lot has been going on with the band lately. A lot of things are changing at a rapid pace. In time these changes will be apparent as with all news, but for now I want to keep things simple. I've decided to start fresh. Start anew. Not in any dramatic sort of sense but in a more...changing directions kind of way. I want to be more personal and more open with both my fans and my work. If you haven't yet noticed, I haven't been referring to this band as "our" band and I've avoided saying "we". As of right now, and I will mention this only here for now because I feel like Tumblr can keep a secret for some reason, the band is on a slight hiatus. Actually, it's not really a hiatus. Let's just say I'm on my own for the time being. It's a bittersweet feeling. Having to take full responsibility over something I started with a small group of friends. Like starting a small business and being bumped up to CEO in a matter of seconds. There's a lot going on in our lives right now. A few of us have taken it upon ourselves to focus more on our personal lives. Some of us just weren't going to fit anymore. The reasons can be numerous. But there is one certainty: this band is going to continue so long as I'm still around to push it forward. It's my brainchild. My amniotic sack. 2014 is going to be a big year for Another Astronaut. It's going to be a very different year. It's going to be hard for sure. But rest assured, there will be some amazing new things soon. Thanks for reading.   -Nick
