Hello. So you play Another Code: R? Tell me what you're think and feel about this game? c:
Very Random Ask but alas I will try to answer this as good as i can! Though I got to say that its been at least ~8 Years since I played the game.
Looks:
I really liked the Art Style, they stayed true to the first Anocther Code Game and the transfer from the small DS Screens to the TV Screen (Wii) did it good! Its got a bit more Places to explore than the first Game and all of them have a unique feeling to it. Same goes for the Characters, especially our dear Ashley who is again the main character. Its just a very pretty game in my opinion.
Characters:
Ashley is again our main character but now as more of a moody Teen than a young, shy girl. I like how she developed and how shes treating the situation with her Dad who, again, disappoints her to no end.
They added a lot more (alive) Characters in general who all have their own stories to tell that somewhat intervene with Ashleys Story.
My fave of the new Characters are Matthew because he and his story remind me a lot of the first game Ashley and her Story as well as Ryan, whom Ill not talk more about as his story plays a giant role in the whole Plot.
Or the Guy with the restaurant whos Name I forgot who “ invented the cold rice-fish burger” that I always wanted to try IRL. All of them are lovable
Gameplay:
Its nice and easy, using the Nunchuck’s C Stick to move while in “Map” mode and the Wii mote similar to a PC mouse. They also Bring back the “DS” in a new Version as Menu/Bag/phone etc. which I personally liked a lot.
Minus points for not using the “TAS” (aka the In-Game Wii Mote) as much as they did the DS in Two Memories.
Other than that it has super funny moments like when you recylce cans. Yes, I believe Can recycling in a video game was made funny.
The Puzzles are innovative and well done and some of them evenm teach you important thing like why the PH level of water is important to flaura and fauna of a lake and what plants can help when you are feeling sickly without 1 Overdoing it and 2 making it boring.
Story:
I, personally, loved the story even though it took a while to get rolling. Its not as dramatic as the story of Two Memories, especially in the beginning but gives us important background Info on Ashleys Parents and their research as well as adding Mystery in the form of Matthews Story (That really teased for a spin off and I think it would have made a cool entry in the series) or the flashback like scenes that occur once Ashley find out that shes been to Lake Juliet before with her mom.
All in all I think its a must have on the Wii especially if you played Another Code: Two Memories. And If you liked Hotel Dusk/The last Window you should deifnitely play these games too! (same goes vice versa) Its a nice Adventure Game that reminded me of the good old click and point adventures from the 90s, just in a modern design. Its not a very long game though if i remember correctly and I might have a dusty, romantiziced look on it but yeah really liked it and now i feel like playing it again tbh xD
