i relapsed into self harm again and i broke the promise and it hurts

I admire people that try to make the world around them a better place to be. People that go out of their way to make a difference, no matter how small. Whether it's the girl that offers to send you notes from the class you missed, the teenage boy who carries the elderly woman's groceries to her car, the teacher who pulls you aside to ask if you're okay, the volunteers at the homeless shelters, the old friend who texts you once a year to tell you they miss you, or the stranger on the street who offers you a smile. There are so many people who have no idea the impact they're making on others. I am a pessimistic person by nature and a lot of times I focus on the negative things in life instead of asking what I can do to make the situation better. I really admire people that can see all the ugly in the world and still choose to remain positive throughout their lives. I often refer to these people in my life as "literal rays of sunshine" because they don't even need to do anything; their presence naturally brings so much light to those around them.
