Haha, yes, Riftstar's mate Shineivy died in a blizzard and that was very much on his mind! But also, Riftstar is a pretty light hearted old man. He's patient with apprentices and kits and fair to his warriors and always has good grandpa advice.

Not yet! It's on my watch list though...mostly because it's apparently written by the queen herself Kobayashi Yasuko. And also Baba Ryoma, who I knew of from a stage work that I really liked.

Some titles take more time until it sets in? I can't really say the same is true every time though. But it was like that for me with the likes of Den-O, written by the same writer. I'm currently on to Shinkenger, also by the same writer, and I have not made it past episode 1 (yet!). Somehow I don't have the itches to go on the next episode right away, but I guess I'll spend more time with it when I feel like it.

At the end of the day it really depends on you, the audience, if you want to continue watching or not. I personally believe toku is a fun experience so if it becomes a little burdensome to watch, maybe that particular title isn't for you ^^;; Me, acting like a sales agent: How about ToQger, dear customer? That might suit you more? I also recommend Kiramager, and one of our latest hits, Zenkaiger. If Zenkaiger feels a little too...zenkai-y, then I do recommend its older model (and by that I mean the other anniversary series lol), Gokaiger, also very good :)

This is fun to answer xD

Levi and my irl boyfriend don’t share many personality traits (nor physical) honestly. Unlike my 2D husbando, the real one is tall, eloquent, loves hanging out, and being surrounded by others. I actually like tall guys; Levi is just an exception.

However, I listed a few things my bf does that I believe Levi would do:

He protects me and keeps me safe: Even though he’s not the strongest man out there, he feels the need to protect me all the time. Maybe because I’m a tiny, minion size woman with a deceiving face that makes me look like I’m still 20, and he has the perception I’m physically weak. Tbh, I like feeling safe with him <3. During a festival, the Anti-riot police started spreading tear gas (some people were destroying private property), the place was crowded and the only way out was by jumping over bushes, the ones with thorns. He covered my face from the gas with his cap. I was wearing shorts that night, so whenever we came across the bushes, he lifted me up to help me pass over without scratching my legs. He had to do it four times before we reached the end of the street.

Do things I want to do even if he doesn’t: Whenever I come up with a plan and he doesn’t seem excited about it, he’d complain and say it’s too bothersome, but he’ll reluctantly do it anyway because he knows that would make me happy. I had to drag him to the ice rink once and spent like 15 minutes convincing him to skate with me. I had bought tickets for two, so he finally agreed. After that, he admitted it was fun and he was glad I forced convinced him. 😊

Being good with kids: Unlike me, he has a special connection with kids (I’m so awkward around them) but he's caring and makes them giggle so easily, and kids like him back. I’m sure he’d be a great dad.

Getting pissed when I’m not giving enough attention: I’m not the most affectionate person in the world, and I actually enjoy loneliness from time to time. His love language is physical touch, though, thus when I’m not around or close enough or hugging him or kissing him he gets pissed and demands more attention. He pouts and is so cute <3

BONUS:

Let me elaborate on my quick thought about Izaya. I think it can be explained by “plot needs to happen”. Izaya needs to be fear death in order to want the head, and allow the entire “main storyline” of (alleged) main character Celty looking for it, and to have a character fear death, you could make them simply not believe in God or the afterlife for some reason or the other. I just think this wasn’t very fitting for Izaya, in retrospect, nor was it that interesting or justified. (I think that’s why a lot of people tend to ignore this piece of his characterization, even the canon itself kind of deviating from it the further it went on, both focusing more on his complex over humanity. It was weak in the first place.) >Izaya having first-hand experiences with magical, or supernatural beings like Celty, which is something that strongly hinted to him at the existence of things beyond our material, “scientific”, known and therefore ‘safe’ understanding of life. >Izaya having studied the field of the occult extensively, which is full of interesting ideas and concepts about things like God and the afterlife, because he was thrown off by Celty’s existence in his life and wanted to know as much as possible about “the other side” to guard himself against it. >Izaya having iamverysmart white boi skepticism.
