1, 3, 5 for what you think is your most underrated fic?
We're going with Daylight cause I do think that fic is underrated by virtue about being focused on a character who is either adored or absolutely hated in that fandom. But I also love rotating him in my brain like a bug under a microscope. And also contemplating the idea of what "rehabilitation" would look like in the Carja society and how, yeah, none of these people are qualified for this. 1. What inspired you to write the fic this way? Hilarious enough answer, this entire fic stemmed from a scene in another fic I was mapping out in my mind that I have not actually seriously written or published! I was like, oh Nil will deal with this situation this way because he- wait this is all headcanon and assumption based on two lines of dialogue. and It became a full 5.5k word fic from that.
3. What’s your favorite line of narration? (There are many great parts but this always stands out to me as the author:) He spends the first however unknown amount of time contemplating his temporary relocation and the charges landed by the Warden.
They are right, technically, he has killed every fellow prisoner they have placed in his cell. His confusion stems from what else they expected from him. He is a tool for killing—killing people, preferably. Were they not wanting him to kill the prisoners?
…why in the sun’s name did they put them in his cell then?
5. What part was hardest to write? mmmm. The section where Nil has to figure out defining his personal moral code/compass. This was the hardest because this was the section that leaned the most on the lore of the game while the rest of the fic was pretty much a free for all for me to write about a man locked in solitary confinement with only one person he interacted with on like. a regular basis. So the majority of the fic could be very introspective and character focused and then I had to actually do a bunch of wiki research for the world lore heavy section and that felt like a drag in comparison to the character stuff. Thank you for the ask, i really enjoyed this!!
