It doesn't matter that he's avoiding Gerard and Gerard has no clue what he's getting up to. Mikey's not actively hiding it. It's just, it's kind of hard to talk to your brother about your sex life. Especially when you're in love with him.
Review: this is far more fic that I was looking for the first time I read this, but I was quickly sucked in none-the-less. It's a good non-famous AU which, while drawing on Bandom in general, keeps the focus firmly on its central characters. Mikey's perspective is well handled and not awkward, the way it can sometimes be, and the story has drama and tension without ever feeling melodramatic or forced. There's a lot in this I would have liked expanded on, but that's praise rather than a criticism - I like this world and its characters enough that I didn't want the story to be over, wanted to know all the minutia of their lives. The kink is a cross between a side-plot and a maguffin, but with the way the story pans out, and the way it's narrated, that's as it should be. And it's not like we don't get any kinky sex for our money.
