Sure thing! Iâm posting it sometime Friday!
HELLO! OMG, I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT I LOVE YOUR WORK! and of course wanted to ask you if you have any advice for an aspiring fanfic writer? I've always kinda just been lurking around but you and other writers out here have inspired me to start my own blog. AGAIN, I love youuuu!
Hello hello hello!! I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! I also think itâs great that youâve been inspired to start a blog! writing on Tumblr is probably one of the best decisions I made because itâs taught me so much and given me more confidence to put myself out there!
So yeah, advice. Well strap in ladies an gentlemen because Iâm going to go all out here.
Firstly I would have to say is âJust do it.â I had been inspired so many times from different things to start a blog or post stuff elsewhere but I never ended up going through with it. You need to get one thing out there and then it is so much easier to put up more content because hey, youâve already done it before - kinda. so post that random drabble you have in a folder. Put up that first chapter. That 5 minute sketch from when you were bored in class. It doesnât matter what it is, just put it online. It took me forever to put up Part 1 of She Loves You because I kept second guessing myself. I thought about keeping it on my computer just for myself, but ultimately when I was talking to another writer about it, she unknowingly gave me that push to say, just press âpostâ at least one person does want to read it. Basically, take that leap into putting that first bbit of content out there.
Sometimes you need that extra push from others without even knowing it. I kept putting it off because I was nervous on what people would think of my work.
This leads to my second bit of advice, Talk to other writers, or if itâs not a writing blog you want to do, talk to other people doing the same thing you are interested in doing. Talk to people who have already been there; whether itâs for advice on a bit of Writers Block that youâve hit, or for some help in describing that one scene just right. It could also just be for that little push I was talking about earlier. It never hurts to drop in a âHey, do you mindâŚâ (let me just say that yes this is an invitation to PM for anything. Iâm happy to answer any questions or give advice or motivation) Other writers are also really good at getting your work out there. Weâre like a big family and we help each other out.
Thirdly, donât worry about not being regular. Yes it helps to attract more readers, especially in the beginning, because it means more people are able to keep up with consistent posting, but donât freak out about it. Everyone understands that life can change and sometimes itâs just not feasible to write and post at a particular time. Whether itâs exams, work, or just having too many other things to do first, nobody expects you to put your blog above that. You do what is comfortable with you.Â
Lastly, donât worry about negative reviews. That was my biggest fear in posting my work. It made it real and I was scared that it wasnât as good as I thought it was.. it sounds irrational and everyone says, âDont worry But what others thinkâ but the truth is that its a levitate fear for some people. BUT. And here comes the big but. Donât let that stop you from trying. Think of it like this:- You will never know unless you do it. Youâll never know that hundreds of people actually liked it or that someone liked it so much that they read it TWICE! Itâs a magical feeling when you find that out and you never truly know that joy until it happens to you; that first comment or reblog. Even if there may be some negs thereâll be so many positive things to focus on.
I guess all Iâm saying is talk to other writers, post when you are comfortable, but donât be afraid of pushing those boundaries of where you are comfortable just a little bit more. And once itâs done, itâs done. Focus of the positives and rewards of your blog and never be afraid to ask for advice so GOOD ON YOU NONNIE!
May I please be added to your permanent tag list? TIA!
Sure thing!! Iâll add you right away. Tune in for part 2!

Hi <3 whatâs your favorite flower?
Hi!!
HmmâŚ
I think lilacs or lavenders are my favourite, though I havenât ever really leaned towards any particular flower. I usually get whatever the store has thatâs not SUPER expensive for the house.
